Setting Table Area Structure: Data Entry Forms in the Web Application

NOTE. If shared dimension is not added to sidehead dimensions or to shared dimensions of table area heading, it will be a private dimension of indicators.

Filter is a cube that is used to filter dimension elements displayed in the sidehead for various parameter values. The filter cells can be filled with value or the cell can be empty. The sidehead will display elements with values.

Filter and indicator should contain at least one shared dimension. The filter structure can be different from the indicator structure for which filtering is launched:

If the indicator contains dimensions absent in the filter, then those dimensions are not taken into account on filtering
If filter contains dimensions that are absent in the indicator, then on filtering by those dimension, the first selected element will be taken into account
If indicator dimension has an element absent in filter, then the element will not be displayed in the sidehead on filtering.

So, on changing parameter value the displayed sidehead elements will change without editing table area.

NOTE. Filter is not displayed in table area heading if more than one element is selected in all its private dimensions. If several dimension elements are selected, filtering is executed by the first selected element, the rest of the elements will be skipped.

Main menu. It contains a field to set up table area name.
Sidehead. The area contains sidehead dimensions and is used to set its structure.
Heading. The area contains heading dimensions and is used to set its structure.
Data sources. The area contains fixed dimensions and calculation algorithms and is used for their setup.
Filter. The area contains a cube that is used to filter dimension elements displayed in the sidehead for various parameter values.
Tab area. It contains buttons to select a group of settings displayed on the side panel in the edit mode.
Advanced settings. It contains buttons for setting up grouping, transposing table area, managing parameters, saving table area, and undoing changes.

Operations with Dimensions, Indicators, Filter, and Algorithms

Available operations with dimensions, indicators, filters, and algorithms in the table area editor:

To add dimensions, indicators and algorithms:

Click the Sources button on the tab panel. The Sources side panel opens.
Select the required tab.
Hover the cursor to the required source. The cursor will change for . Drag the source to the corresponding editor area. Algorithms are added to the To Change tab by default. To add an algorithm to the To Save tab, open the Calculation Algorithms dialog box, go to the tab and drag the algorithm to it.

To add a filter:

Click the Sources button on the tab panel. The Sources side panel opens.
Select the Cubes tab.
Hover the cursor to the cube that has at least one shared dimension with the indicator. Drag the cube to the Filter area in the table area editor. Only one filter can be added.

NOTE. Add the required data source if it is absent.

If required, drag the dimension to the other area. Moving is available for sidehead dimensions, shared and fixed dimensions.

NOTE. To move indicator from table area heading to sidehead, click the Transpose button.

To remove dimensions, indicators, filter, and algorithms, select the Remove <dimension/indicator/filter/algorithm name> context menu item of the required dimension, indicator, filter, or algorithm.

To limit filter dimension elements:

Open the dialog box using the Edit <Dimension Name> item in the dimension's context menu.

In the dialog box that opens select one of the filter options:

All Elements. All elements will be selected. It is not available for fixed dimensions with disabled aggregation.
Selected Elements. Select only required elements or exclude selected elements from selection by selecting the Exclude Selected checkbox. Only one element can be selected for fixed dimensions with disabled aggregation, and the Exclude Selected checkbox is disabled.

To search for element in the list, start entering name of the searched element in the search string. When the entire word or its part are entered, the list displays the elements, which names contain the searched character combination.

Advanced Filter. Add rules to the advanced filter by clicking the Add button. Set:

Attribute. Select an attribute of the specified dictionary in the drop-down list. To filter dictionary elements by linked dictionary attributes, select in the list of available linked attributes the attribute of the dictionary selected on link creation with attribute of selected dictionary. Linked attributes are displayed at the first nested level and represent the tree of available linked attributes.

NOTE. If dictionary attribute contains multiple values, then on checking filtering condition all attribute values will be compared. If at least one attribute value meets the condition, the dictionary element will automatically meet the condition.

Condition. Set filtering condition. Available options: equal, not equal, greater, less, greater or equal, less or equal, included, not included.

Type. Select filter type. Available options: value, parameter.
Ignore Empty. Empty values will be ignored if the checkbox is selected. It is available only for the Parameter type.
Value. It depends on the selected attribute and type.

If the Value type is selected, the specific value corresponding to the attribute type is specified in the box.

If the Parameter type is selected, the attribute is selected in the drop-down list representing a tree of available parameters with attributes.

If attribute is linked and the Value type is selected, the box has a pop-up menu with available dictionary values.

If attribute is linked and the Parameter type is selected, the box has a pop-up menu with a tree of available parameters with attributes of linked dictionary.

Do Not Filter from Empty Values. Attribute empty values will be filtered if the checkbox is selected.

NOTE. If alternative hierarchy is set up for the dimension, and advanced parameter filter is set, the advanced filter is applied to the alternative dictionary.

Click the Delete button to delete the selected advanced filter rule.

Finish the selection by clicking the Apply button.

To reorder dimensions, indicators, and attributes in table sidehead/heading, drag them within the area. The top dimension located in sidehead/heading will be displayed as the leftmost/topmost in the table area.

To set up element name displaying in data entry form sidehead/heading:

Hover the cursor on the dimension in the Sidehead/Shared Dimensions area.
Select the Add Attribute item in the dimension's context menu.
Execute the operation:

Select checkbox next to the attribute to add a dimension attribute. Multiple selection is available.

NOTE. If several attributes are selected, each selected attribute will be displayed in table area in a separate column or row.

Deselect checkbox next to the attribute to hide dimension attribute. Multiple selection is available.

As a result, displaying of additional names of dimension elements is set up.

NOTE. When setting up element name displaying in data entry form sidehead/heading, the list of attributes does not display hidden attributes.

To place sidehead dimension in heading and heading dimensions in sidehead, click the Transpose button.

Table area can be transposed on:

Editing data entry form. To do this, click the Transpose button on the toolbar.
Working with ready form.

To merge sidehead elements by specified attributes, execute the following operations:

Click the Grouping Settings button. The Set Up Grouping dialog box opens:

Select the required attributes in the Grouped Attributes area. To do this:

Select the attribute in the Sidehead Dimensions area.
Execute one of the operations:

Drag the attribute to the Grouped Attributes area.
Click the Group button.

NOTE. Hidden attributes of dimension cannot be grouped.

Select a dictionary level for which grouping is set up. To do this, select level name in the dimension's drop-down list of the Grouped Attributes area. The Without Level option is selected by default. In this case, grouping is applied to all levels at the same time.
Place attributes in the required order:

Select the attribute in the Grouped Attributes area.
Use the Move Up and Move Down buttons.

The attributes location in the Grouped Attributes area affects the element order in the table sidehead.

Delete attributes if there is no need to use them in grouping. To do this:

Select the attribute in the Grouped Attributes area.
Execute one of the operations:

Drag the attribute to the Sidehead Dimensions area.
Click the Ungroup button.

Toggle the Hide Empty Values of Attributes switch to the active state to show only the attributes with set values. The switch is active by default. It is required to hide empty attribute values if several attributes are not specified for elements. If empty attribute values are hidden, the table displays grouped elements and then ungrouped elements, that is, those without attribute values, by which grouping is set up.

After executing the operations, the attributes, by which element grouping is executed, are assigned. Grouping is applied to elements of one dimension.

NOTE. Grouping can be set up for each dimension displayed in the sidehead, except for the dimension, for which alternative hierarchy is set up.

One can also set up sidehead elements using the Layout group of parameters.
