A standard cube is used for data representation from several different sources. Dictionaries and datasets are required to create a standard cube. The cube type is special in the way that data for facts can be obtained from dataset or calculated by a custom formula.
The standard cube wizard contains the pages:
Basic Settings/Basic Properties. The page is used to set object name, identifier and comment.
Parameters. The page is used to create a list of parameters.
Display Versions. The page is used to create a list of cube display versions, toggling between which determines corresponding settings on the pages displayed below. The settings differ depending on the selected display version to be set up: The page is available only in the web application.
Facts. The page is used to create a list of cube facts, which will then reflect actual cube data.
Facts Binding. The page is used to bind facts to data source fields containing values of cube cells.
Dimensions. The page is used to create multidimensional cube structure, and each dimension is linked to data source fields, which values will be used to define cube cell coordinates.
Units and Indicators. The page is used to specify dictionaries, which are used to organize automatic data scaling into required measurement units.
Relations. The page is used to create a list of specific elements that can be used in calculated facts and enable to get and use point values with other coordinates in each calculation point.
Calculated Facts. The page is used to set up cube facts that are not directly linked with data source fields, but calculated by formulas.
Advanced Settings. The page is used to set parameters of working with standard cube data.
Managing Parameters. The page is used to set up passing of parameter values to open objects used in the cube.
Controlling Dimensions. The page is used to set up interaction between parametric cube dimensions and other dimensions.
Data Aggregation. The page is used to set up data aggregation by various levels of cube dimensions.
Event Handler. The page is used to set up the event handler for the events that will occur in a cube. The page is available only in the web application.
To save settings in the cube wizard:
In the web application:
Click the Save button.
Select the Save and Close item in the drop-down menu of the Save button. After this the specified settings are saved, the wizard closes, and the object navigator opens.
NOTE. The Save and Close item is available only on editing the settings.
In the desktop application click the Finish button.
Additionally, one can set up segments for the cube, which determine data read/write permissions in the cube. Segments can be set up only in the web application.
