A cube segment is a set of data slice of cube data slice and security subjects permissions to this data.
NOTE. Segments can be set up only for standard cubes.
To manage segments, select the Segments item in the selected cube's context menu in the object navigator. The wizard containing the following pages opens:
When creating a cube segment, existing cube permissions are limited for users or groups of users. Cube segment access permissions are determines via discretionary access control method method are applied for each dictionary element. Along with the discretionary access control method one can also use attribute-based access control method.

NOTE. Cube segments can be created by the user or group of users who have permissions to create tables in database.
