Working with Cubes

Opening a cube results in creating its OLAP view or express report in terms of Foresight Analytics Platform.

After executing setup this express report can be used as a default cube view. It will open automatically when the cube opens.

To open a cube for edit in the object navigator select the cube and execute one of the operations:

Select the Edit item in the cube's context menu.
Select the Edit in a New Tab item in the cube's context menu.
Select the Edit in a New Window item in the cube's context menu.
Press F4.

After executing one of the operations, the table wizard opens.

The users who have only object read permissions can open a cube for edit without being able to save changes. For details see the Working in Object Navigator section.

To save a new cube or open a cube for edit in the cube wizard:

Click the Save button.
Select the Save and Close item in the drop-down menu of the Save button. After this the specified settings are saved, the cube wizard closes, and the object navigator opens.

NOTE. The Save and Close item is available only during cube editing.

To open a cube for view in the object navigator select the cube and execute one of the operations:

Select the Open item in the cube's context menu.
Select the Open in a New Window item in the cube's context menu.
Double-click the cube.
Press the ENTER key.

The express report that has been previously saved for this source opens.

When the cube view is opened in the express report, it is checked if the source cube has new dimensions absent in the cube view.

NOTE. To delete the child express report, select the Delete Saved View item in the cube's context menu. This context menu item is absent if the express report was not saved for the source.
