Data Visualization as Charts

To change chart type, select chart type in the Chart object's context menu on the Sources panel. The menu includes the items corresponding to various chart types.

The chart is rebuilt according to the selected type.

To rename a chart, select the Rename item in the Chart object's context menu on the Sources panel.

After the command is executed, the box with object name becomes active. Enter new chart name to the box.

To set up chart general properties, use the General Settings group of parameters on the side panel.

To delete a chart, select the Delete item in the Chart object's context menu on the Sources panel.

A confirmation dialog box opens.

To set up chart caption, use the Caption group of parameters on the side panel.

To set up data series, use the Data Series group of parameters on the side panel.

To set up series groups, use the Series Groups group of parameters on the side panel.

To set up a series point, use the Data Series Point Format group of parameters.

To set up legend position and formatting, use the Legend group of parameters on the side panel.

To set up a chart category axis, use the Category Axis (X) group of parameters on the side panel.

To set up a chart value axis, use the Value Axis (Y) group of parameters on the side panel.

To set up a chart secondary axis, use the Value Axis (Secondary) group of parameters on the side panel.

To show or hide data labels, use the Data Labels group of parameters on the side panel.

To set up level lines, use the Level Lines group of parameters on the side panel.

To set up chart corridors, use the Chart Corridors group of parameters on the side panel.

To set up tooltips, use the Tooltips group of parameters on the side panel.

To set up overlaps and gaps, use the Overlaps and Gaps group of parameters on the side panel.

To set up plot area, use the Plot Area group of parameters on the side panel.

To activate the chart, execute the operation specified in the Object Properties group of parameters.

To display color indication of a chart data series:

1. Activate the chart.

2. Hover the cursor over a data series or in the data area:

NOTE. If it is required to view information about data series, use tooltips.

It is available for all chart types, except waterfall charts.

To view data series tooltips:

1. Activate the chart.

2. Hover the cursor over the data series in the legend or in the data area.

Available tooltip display options on data series mouseover in the legend area:

• Data series point value is displayed if the data series includes one series point data:

• Data series name is displayed if the data series includes several series points:

NOTE. To display chart tooltips, select the Tooltips checkbox and determine the required settings.

Data drilldown is the operation that enables the user to move through data levels: from general to specific. Available drilldown depth is determined by the hierarchy of data source dimensions.

Drillup is the opposite operation to drilldown allowing to move from specific to general data.

NOTE. Data drilldown is unavailable for data series corresponding to calculated values.

To drill down or drill up data:

1. Activate the chart.

2. Select the Drill Down or Drill Up item in the data series' context menu.

Change selection manually on the selection panel if there is no data on the selected level during drilldown or drillup.

To exclude a series from the chart:

1. Activate the chart.

2. Click the series marker in the chart legend. Series marker will change indication. The selected series will not be displayed in the chart plot area:

• The series will be displayed in the legend as a marker with label.

• For elements corresponding to the excluded series, checkboxes will be selected in the dimension.

To include a data series:

1. Activate the chart.

2. Click the marker of the excluded series in the chart legend.
