Relational Data Area

To work with the tool in Foresight Analytics Platform 10, use the new interface.

A relational data area shows data directly from relational objects, such as data tables, queries and views.

The following basic functionalities are available when working with relational data area:

Working in regular report enables the following operations with relational data area:

To create a relational data area:

Drag a relational object from the Data Sources and Data Slices panel to the report sheet.

Select a cell range and drag a new area to this range.
Select a cell in the report sheet, and select the Other Areas > Relational Area item in the Data Areas group on the Insert ribbon tab. In the drop-down list select a relational data source: table, query or a view.

When creating a relational data area, determine its parameters in the Relational Data Area dialog box.

NOTE. To open a dialog box, select the Relational Data Area Parameters context menu item for relational area created using ribbon.

In order that settings will be applied, select the Calculate Relational Data Area context menu item.

The created relational data area is shown like a standard data area.

To edit relational data area parameters, select the Relational Data Area Parameters context menu item of any cell in this relational data area.

The Relational Data Area dialog box opens.
