Viewing Data

To work with the tool in Foresight Analytics Platform 10, use the new interface.

View Data

Data viewing is used to preview the ETL task provider or consumer data selected using queries or required parameters.

NOTE. For the Repository provider and the Repository consumer, data viewing is available only if the Document repository object is a data provider or data consumer. Data viewing is available in the web application, if corresponding functionality is available for provider or consumer (for example, if repository cube is selected as data consumer, it can be previewed in the Analytical Queries (OLAP) web tool).

NOTE. Only the first hundred of the provider lines will be displayed during the data preview.

Operations with Data

To navigate to the first record:

Click the Move to the First Record button on the toolbar.
Select the Table > First Record main menu item.

To move to the last record:

Click the Move to the Last Record button on the toolbar.
Select the Table > Last Record main menu item.

To move to the next record:

Click the Move to the Next Record button on the toolbar.
Select the Table > Next Record main menu item.

To move to the previous record

Click the Move to the Previous Record button on the toolbar.
Select the Table > Previous Record main menu item.

To update records:

Click the Update button on the toolbar.
Select the Table > Update main menu item.
Press F5.

To show or hide columns:

Using context menu:

Click a column header with the right mouse button and in the displayed context menu select or deselect checkboxes next to the columns to be shown or hidden.

Using dialog box:

Select the Table > Select Columns main menu item.

The Specify Columns to Display dialog box opens:

Select or deselect checkboxes next to the columns to be shown or hidden.

To select all checkboxes, click the Reset button. On clicking the OK button, columns are displayed in the View Data dialog box.

To move along columns to the required positions, use the Up and Down buttons. The column width can be specified in pixels for each column.

To show or hide rows:

Click the item in the required column header.
In the displayed context menu select or deselect checkboxes of required values.

Sorting enables the user to change order of records displayed on preview of the ETL task data provider or consumer.

For descending or ascending sorting of records:

Click the required column header with the main mouse button.
Click the item in the required column header and select sorting type.
Select the Sorting item in the column context menu. In the dialog box that opens select columns and sorting type of values in it.

Sorted columns are labeled with special signs:

- ascending sorting of records.
- descending sorting of records.

Data filtering enables the user to display only records corresponding to selected criteria.

It is possible to set criterion by list for numeric values. To do this:

Click the item in the required column header and select the Top N item in the context menu. The dialog box opens:

Set filtering parameters.

To reset criterion by list:

Click the item in the required column header.
Select the Reset Filter item in the context menu that opens.

Unlike the criterion by list, custom autofilter enables the user to filter records using more criteria.

For custom data filtering:

Click the item in the required column header and select the Set Up Filter context menu item. The dialog box opens:

Set filtering parameters.

To reset custom filtering:

Click the item in the required column header.
Select the Reset Filter item in the context menu that opens.
