Getting Started with the ETL Task Tool in the Web Application

To create a new ETL task in the object navigator click the Create button in the main menu and select the object type on the New Object side panel.

To open ready ETL task for edit in the object navigator execute one of the operations:

• Select the Edit item in the ETL task's context menu.

• Select the Edit in a New Tab item in the ETL task's context menu.

• Select the Edit in a New Window item in the ETL task's context menu.

• Select the ETL task and press F4.

To open a ready ETL task for view in the object navigator execute one of the operations:

• Select the Open item in the ETL task's context menu.

• Select the Open in a New Tab item in the ETL task's context menu.

• Select the Open in a New Window item in the ETL task's context menu.

• Double-click ETL task.

• Select the ETL task and press the ENTER key.

• Main menu. In the edit mode the window contains a box for entering ETL task name and buttons to return to the object navigator, and ETL task parameter settings. One can also run and save ETL task here. In the view mode one can only return to the object navigator and run ETL task.

• Toolbar. It contains buttons for working area setup. The buttons in the edit mode and in the view mode differ.

• Parameters panel. It is used to set ETL task parameter values. To display or hide the parameters panel, use the parameters button on the toolbar.

• Working area. It is used to create an ETL task data export/import chain.

• Connectors and transformers toolbar. It is displayed when the context menu opens and only in the ETL task edit mode. The panel is used to add specific object types to the working area:

• Providers.

• Consumers.

• Transformers.

• Other.
