Setting Up Detailing

To set up hyperlinks that open other data views from the heading or sidehead, go to the Details tab of the Data Area Properties dialog box. For example, when a hyperlink is clicked, the application displays a chart on another report sheet that shows data for the selected element.

When you set up detailing for a dimension or level, all elements or some of the elements in the data area are shown as hyperlinks. On triggering the hyperlink, a selection is sent to the selected dimension. After that the report (or sheet) is calculated and a specified action is executed.

To reset detailing settings for the selected dimension or level, click the Reset Options button.

Determine Selection Behavior

To set up selection behavior on triggering the hyperlink, determine the following parameters:

In the list select a slice, for one of the dimensions of which the selection should be modified.

In the list select a dimension, which selection should be modified. The list contains all dimensions of the selected slice.

In the list select a method to modify selection in the specified dimension:

Undefined. Dimension selection does not change.
Replacement. All available selection in the dimension is cleared, and only the element, which hyperlink is clicked, remains selected.
Inversion. Selection of the dimension element, which hyperlink is clicked, is inverted (changes to the opposite).
Addition. The element, which hyperlink is clicked, is selected in the dimension, unless this element has been previously selected.

The Index to Search Elements By and Search Attribute in the Index lists are necessary to set correspondence between dimensions' elements:

In the list specify index of the dimension selected in the Dimension box. This index is used to search for the element, which hyperlink was clicked. If the Undefined option is selected, index is chosen automatically.

In the list specify attribute of the dimension, for which detailing is set up, and which elements will be used as hyperlinks. Values of this attribute are used to find attribute value for the index selected in the Index to Search Elements By list. Thus, a correspondence is set between the dimension elements. In other words, the search is executed based on the value of the specified attribute of the element, which hyperlink was clicked. If the Undefined option is selected, attribute is chosen automatically.

Determine Condition to Exclude Elements from Detailing

To apply detailing only to the selected elements, instead of all elements of the dimension or level, for which the detailing is enabled, determine a condition in the Exclude Element by Condition box. The condition is disabled by default. If this condition is satisfied, detailing is not applied to the element.

To determine a condition, click the Open in Editor button. The Expression Editor dialog box opens.

Setting Up Hyperlink Action

To set up action to be executed on hyperlink click, determine the following parameters:

Triggering a hyperlink does not result in any action.

When this action is selected, the File Name box appears below. Specify a file, which opens on triggering a hyperlink.

To select a file, click the button in this box. A standard file selection dialog box opens.

The Hyperlink box opens on selecting this action. Type in hyperlink URL into it.

Selecting this action opens the Report Sheets drop-down list. Select a sheet to go to on clicking the hyperlink.

Selecting this action opens the Range Description box, in which enter the cell range. The specified range is selected on clicking the hyperlink.

The following methods can be used to enter a cell range:

To describe a rectangular area, first specify the address of the upper left cell, from which the range starts, then the address of the lower right cell, which ends the range (separate addresses with a colon).
If positioning to one cell is required, specify only address of this cell.
To describe a combined area, use semicolon to specify the addresses of rectangular areas and separate cells, of which this area consists.

Selecting this action opens the Report Objects drop-down list. Select an object to go to on triggering the hyperlink.

Selecting this action opens the Repository Objects drop-down list. Select the repository object to open on clicking the hyperlink.

Additional boxes appear on selecting this action:

Unit. In the drop-down list select the development environment object connected to the regular report.
Procedure/Function. Specify name of the macro to be started on clicking the hyperlink.

Depending on the file where the macro is implemented, the path to the macro is specified in different ways in this box:

The macro is implemented in a unit or a form of the repository: <macro name>.
The macro is implemented in one of the objects of the repository assembly: <macro name>.
