How to Control Dictionary Parameters?

To set up dictionary parameters, consider an example of the MDM dictionary that contains country names, territory codes and other information.

Working with MDM Dictionary Parameters

Set up a dictionary in the way that the element tree displays the countries that satisfy the conditions:

To do this, go to the dictionary elements tab, select the Asia and the Australia and Oceania elements in the Continent drop-down list, select the English element in the Official Language drop-down list:

Operations with Parameters

The following operations are available on working with the parameters that are drop-down lists:

To search for parameter value:

Click the Find button in the parameter edit box and enter the text to search. The elements containing the specified substring are displayed in the element tree. To clear the search string, click Clear button.
Select the Search String item in the context menu of the expanded list of parameter elements. Then enter the text to search in the search string. To navigate by the found elements, click the Find button or press the ENTER key.

To select all elements, select the Select All item in the context menu of the expanded list of parameter elements. To deselect all elements, select the Deselect All item in the context menu of the expanded list of parameter elements.

To select elements of the particular level, select the Select Level item in the level context menu of the expanded list of parameter elements. To deselect elements of the particular level, select the Deselect Level item in the level context menu of the expanded list of parameter elements.

To select all descendant elements of the particular level, select the Select Descendants by Level item in the level's context menu of the expanded list of parameter elements. To deselect all descendant elements, select the Deselect Descendants item in the level's context menu of the expanded list of parameter elements.

To expand hierarchy of elements list, select the Expand All item in the level's context menu in the expanded list of parameter elements.

To collapse hierarchy of elements list, select the Collapse All item in the level's context menu in the expanded list of parameter elements.
