The Links Page: MDM Dictionary

The Links page in the web application and in the desktop application is used to create and set up links by attributes with other MDM dictionaries. Creating links is necessary:

Links between attributes can be created in empty and non-empty dictionaries. When creating links in a non-empty dictionary make sure that all values of the linked attribute are empty. Otherwise a link cannot be created.

Operations with Links

To add a link:

In the web application click the Add button. The new link is added to the list of links. Link name and identifier are set as default: LINK<Number>. To set up link parameters, set link properties in corresponding columns.
In the desktop application:

Click the Add button.
Select the Add item in the context menu on empty area of the Link tab.
Double-click the empty area of the Links tab.

The Link Properties dialog box opens.

NOTE. Links for dictionaries based on different database objects cannot be created.

To edit selected link properties:

In the web application change properties in corresponding columns of the required link on the Links page of the dictionary wizard. To set up binding parameters, click the Binding Parameters button. Make necessary changes in the Binding Parameters dialog box.
In the desktop application:

Click the Edit button.
Select the Edit item in the link's context menu.
Double-click the link name.

Make necessary changes in the Link Properties dialog box.

To delete the selected link:

In the web application click the Delete button.
In the desktop application:

Click the Delete button.
Press CTRL+DELETE.
Select the Delete item in the link's context menu.

A confirmation to execute the operation is requested.

To change the number of displayed properties in the web application, click the Settings button and select or deselect the checkbox next to property names.
