Executing Operations with Elements

To select all dictionary elements, select the Select All context menu item.

To deselect all dictionary elements, select the Deselect All context menu item.

To select all elements located on the same level with the specified dictionary element, select the Select Descendants by Level context menu item.

To select all dictionary descendants, select the Select Descendents context menu item.

To deselect all descendant dictionary elements, select the Deselect Descendants context menu item.

To select dictionary level, select the Select Level context menu item and select the required dictionary level.

To deselect level of dictionary, select the Deselect Level context menu item.

To move the selected element up:

• Click the Move Up button on the toolbar. After executing the operation the selected element is moved one position up.

• Select the Move Up/Up item in the element's context menu. After executing the operation the selected element is moved one position up.

• Use Drag&Drop:

• If element is dragged with the SHIFT key held down, elements are copied.

• If element is dragged within one level without holding down keys, the element is moved to the place of the specified element.

To move the selected element down:

• Click the Move Down button on the toolbar. After executing the operation the selected element is moved one position down.

• Select the Move Down/Down item in the element's context menu. After executing the operation the selected element is moved one position down.

• Use Drag&Drop:

• If element is dragged with the SHIFT key held down, elements are copied.

• If element is dragged within one level without holding down keys, the element is moved to the place of the specified element.

To move the selected element one level up:

• Click the Move One Level Up button on the toolbar.

• Select the Move One Level Up/One Level Up item in the element's context menu.

After executing the operation the selected element is moved one level up.

To move the selected element between the levels, use Drag&Drop:

• If it is moved while the CTRL key is held down, this element will be a descendant for that it is dropped on.

• If element is dragged between levels without holding down keys, it is moved to the same level the specified element is moved.

To add an MDM dictionary element to update in the web application:

1. Open an MDM dictionary for edit.

2. Select the Add to Update item in the selected element's context menu.

After executing the operations the selected element is added to update in the update manager. In the corresponding box in the Transfer Data column in the update manager there will be a mention that the update is partial:

To add a dictionary element to update in the desktop application:

1. Open MDM dictionary for edit and go to the Dictionary Elements tab.

2. Open context menu of selected element.

3. The next step depends on whether there are child elements:

• If the selected element has no child elements, select the Add to Update item.

• If the selected element has child elements, select the Add to Update item, then select in the drop-down list:

• Without Child Elements. The element will be added to update without child elements.

• With Child Elements. The element will be added to the update with child elements.

4. If the dictionary was not included to the update before, the Add to Update dialog box opens. Set update options in the dialog box. If the dictionary has been already included in the update, it is not necessary to set up options again on adding new elements.

As a result of operations, the selected element is added to the update contents in the update manager. In the corresponding box in the Transfer Data column in the update manager there will be a mention that the update is partial:

To delete an MDM dictionary element from update in the web application:

1. Open an MDM dictionary for edit.

2. Select the Delete from Update item in the selected element's context menu.

After executing the operations the selected element is deleted from the update.

To delete dictionary element from the update in the desktop application:

1. Open MDM dictionary for edit and go to the Dictionary Elements tab.

2. Open context menu of the selected element.

3. Select the Delete from Update item.

NOTE. If parent element is deleted from the update, its child elements remain in the update. To delete child elements from the update, select the Delete from Update item in the child elements' context menu.

After executing the operations the selected element is excluded from the update.
