Getting Started with Update Manager

Working with the update manager is available for the user/group member who has the Access to Update Manager privilege.

To create a new update:

Select the Open item in the Update Manager section on the side panel. object navigator. The update manager opens.
Click the Create Update button on the toolbar.

After executing the operations the confirmation dialog box opens. If the answer is positive, the objects containing in the update structure are deleted, the specified update process options and update options of the Update Objects root element are reset.

To open ready update:

Select the Open item in the Update Manager section on the side panel. object navigator. The update manager opens.
Click the Open from File button on the toolbar.

After executing the operations a standard file selection dialog box opens. Select the update file with the *.pefx extension.

There are some features on opening ready update.

Main menu. It contains update name and commands for calculation and verifying checksums, buttons to go back to the object navigator, update process options, and settings for saving update to file.
Toolbar. It is used to create update structure.
Update structure. It is used to work with update objects using context menu commands.
Object update options panel. It is used to set up update options of the object selected in the update structure. To show or hide the object update options panel, use the Object Update Options button on the toolbar.
