Setting Up Format

1. Make sure that the side panel is displayed.

2. Select an object in the working area.

3. If a visualizer is selected, select the Block radio button on the side panel.

4. Go to the Block tab.

Enter object name. Name of the object is used to identify dashboard objects.

Select checkboxes next to the required object control buttons to display them. Object control buttons are displayed at the upper right corner of object and enable the user to quickly execute basic operations to control an object and also extend object functionality if a dashboard is in the view mode.

NOTE. Object control buttons are available for all objects, except for Label and Text blocks.

A set of available buttons differs for each object type. Available buttons:

• Data. It is used to display data, based on which an object is built. The option is available for all visualizers except for the Table type.

• Block Link. It is used to get a link to an object. It is available only in the web application.

• Export. It is used to export object. It is available only for visualizers and reports.

• Print. It is used to print an object.

• Settings. It is used to quickly set up an object. It is available only for visualizers.

• Maximize or Minimize. It is used to maximize and minimize an object.

Specify object background fill mode:

• None. Default value. Background fill is not used.

• Solid Fill. Background is filled with one color. An additional parameter is available to specify fill color.

• Gradient Fill. Background is filled using a two-color gradient. There are advanced parameters to specify the gradient angle and its start and end colors.

Select the checkbox to resize table depending on block size. The checkbox is available only in the web application for the Table, Regular Report and Express Report blocks.

To set up table adaptability, select one of the radio buttons:

• Autofit. By default, table is autofit by block width and height. To resize table, use the checkboxes:

• By Width. Table width is autofit by block width.

• By Height. Table height is autofit by block height.

If the By Width and By Height checkboxes are deselected, table is restored to original size.

• Zoom Table Contents. Table size and text font are fit to block size.

If table contents does not fit block size, when autofit or zoom is used, table contents is displayed within the block without scrollbars.

The checkbox is deselected by default, and table size does not depend on block size. In this case scrollbars are displayed if table contents does not fit block size.

Select the checkbox to display object border. The checkbox is selected by default, and the border is displayed. Use the appropriate box to set border thickness.

Select the checkbox to display object shadow. If the checkbox is selected, the following is displayed:

• The Shadow Color button to display a drop-down palette and to select object shadow color.

• Additional shadow parameters:

• Thickness. Shadow thickness.

• Intensity. Shadow transparency. Value of interval [0; 100]. The greater is the value, the less transparent is the shadow: 0 - shadow is transparent, 100 - shadow is opaque.

The checkbox is deselected by default, and object shadow is not displayed.

Select the checkbox to smooth object edges. After the checkbox is selected, the Radius box is displayed to enter edge smoothing radius. Available values range: [0; 25]. The checkbox is available only in the web application.

The checkbox is deselected by default, and object edges are not smoothed.

Select the checkbox to set object paddings. If the checkbox is selected, boxes are displayed to enter size of paddings.

The checkbox is deselected by default, and paddings are not used.

NOTE. The option is available if the automatic object layout mode is used.

Select the checkbox to fix object. On adding or removing other blocks, fixed object's size and position do not change. The fixed object can be resized only manually. If the parent object is zoomed, fixed object's size is changed proportionally to the parent object.

The checkbox is deselected by default for all objects, except for controls.

Select the checkbox to display object margins. The checkbox is deselected by default, and margins are not used.

Use the checkbox to set up block interactivity. Interactivity is a property that can be used to select and change the block data area, for example, drill down data.

The checkbox is selected by default, and all blocks are interactive on opening a dashboard for view. When a dashboard is opened for edit, blocks are always interactive regardless of the checkbox state.

NOTE. In the web application the checkbox is available for all objects, except for Button and Image blocks. To set up button and image interactivity in the web application, use the Active Button checkbox.

To disable interactivity, open a dashboard for edit and deselect the checkbox for the required block. When a dashboard is opened for view, the block is not interactive.

NOTE. Interactivity cannot be disabled for container elements.

The following is available for the block with disabled interactivity:

• Tooltips.

• Dimension synchronization.

• Control buttons.

To disable the above mentioned options, open a dashboard for edit and determine the corresponding settings.

Select the checkbox to set up block states behavior and formatting. The checkbox is available only in the web application for Button and Image blocks.

To set up block states:

1. Select the Active Button checkbox.

2. Set up states formatting.

3. Add commands that should be executed on block click.

4. Set up the Deactivate Button/Image item for another block of the Button or Image type and link it with the source block. Clicking this block restores the source block state to the normal one.

As a result, states behavior will be set up for the block.

To set up normal and pressed states of block, use the Normal Style and Pressed Styles groups of parameters displayed on selecting the Active Button checkbox. Normal state means that a block is not pressed:

The checkbox is deselected by default, and a block is only in the normal state.

Settings in the Normal Style and the Pressed Style groups of parameters are identical and depend on the block type. The following settings are available:

• Font. It is available only for blocks of the Button type.

• Fill.

• Border.

• Shadow.

NOTE. When the checkbox is selected, the specified settings are also available and are used to set up only the normal state.

When a dashboard is opened for view, the block, for which state styles were set up, will be in the normal state by default. Click the block to switch it to the pressed state, its formatting will change according to the style that was set up for this state.

To return the pressed block to the normal state, set up the Deactivate Button/Image item for another block of the Button or Image type.

3. Go to the Document tab.

In the drop-down list select dashboard background fill mode:

• None. Background fill is not used. Default.

Select the checkbox to set dashboard paddings. If the checkbox is selected, boxes are displayed to enter size of paddings.

The checkbox is deselected by default, and paddings are not used.

Snap to grid enables the user to snap object to grid cells. To enable snap:

1. Select the Snap to Grid checkbox.

2. Set grid cell size in the Grid Step Size box.

As a result, a grid is displayed in the working area.

The desktop application enables the user to set a custom size for working area. To do this:

1. Select the Custom Size checkbox.

2. Set working area size in pixels in the Width and Height boxes. To set working area size to fit the screen, click the Fit to Screen Size button.

3. Set blocks layout. By default, blocks layout is fully determined by the user. If the After Each Other checkbox is selected, blocks are located as follows:

• Blocks do not overlap each other.

• Blocks are not resized.

• Blocks are located horizontally starting from the left corner of the table. Each subsequent block, which is out of the series, is wrapped lower to the nearest available position by height.

• On resizing the working area, and on hiding or removing blocks, the position of displayed blocks changes according to the principles listed above.

If the After Each Other checkbox is selected, the In Line additional checkbox, which determines block layout mode, is displayed. This checkbox is deselected by default. If the checkbox is selected, all blocks are located in a vertical line.

1. Make sure that the side panel is displayed.

2. Click on the empty space of the working area.

3. Go to the Print tab.

Select one of the predefined paper sizes in the Paper Size, mm drop-down list or enter custom size in the Width and Height boxes.

Set size of dashboard margins.

Specify dashboard orientation: portrait or landscape.
