Viewing Group and User Objects

To view user and group objects, use the User Objects tab or the Group Objects panel in the Users section on the Properties side panel in the web application and using the View > User Objects/Group Objects main menu item in the desktop application.

To easily view access permissions of a user or a user group for repository objects, select a user or a user group in the Users or Groups section. When several users or user groups are selected, the panel is empty.

The object tree displays the Access Permissions column containing the access permissions that the selected user or user group has for a specific object.

NOTE. Checking effective access permissions for repository objects may take quite a long time.

The following operations are available on the User Objects or Group Objects panel:

To refresh the list of objects:

In the web application click the Refresh button on the toolbar.
In the desktop application:

Click the button on the toolbar.
Select the Refresh context menu item.

To view access permissions for the selected object:

In the web application:

Click the Set Up Access Permissions > Open Access Permissions button.

Object access permissions are displayed on the side panel in the Navigator section.

In the desktop application:

Click the Access Rights button on the toolbar.
Select the Access Permissions context menu item.
Double-click the object.

The Access Control Settings dialog box opens.

To view properties of the selected object:

Click the Properties button on the toolbar.
Select the Properties item in the context menu.

The Object Properties dialog box opens.

NOTE. Viewing object properties is available only in the desktop application.

To set up filtering, click the button on the toolbar or side panel and select the filtering option:

All Objects. The list shows both types of objects: with access permissions and without permissions.
With Access Permissions. The list displays objects, for which the user or group has some access permissions. If the user or group has no permissions for parent object, but has permissions for a dependent object, when the Access Permissions Enabled filter is enabled, the parent object is also shown in the tree but is highlighted with contrasting color and italicized.
Without Access Permissions. The list shows objects, for which the user or group has no access permissions. If the user or group has permissions for a parent object, but has no permissions for a dependent object, when the Access Permissions Disabled filter is enabled, the parent object is also shown in the tree but is highlighted with contrasting color and italicized.

To search for an object:

In the web application, on the User Objects tab enter the required object in the search string.

The found object will be selected in the object tree.

In the desktop application:

Click the button on the toolbar.
Select the Search item in the context menu.

The Search dialog box opens.
