Searching Users and Groups

Select subject type, arrangement, and enter user names or groups to search for subjects.

To search for a security subject, use the Subject Type and Arrangement filter groups that enable the user to determine, which security subjects to find.

The Subject Type group:

Groups. When the checkbox is selected, the search will include only user groups.
Users. When the checkbox is selected, the search will include only users.

The Arrangement group:

Domain. When the checkbox is selected, the search will include domain subjects.
DBMS. When the checkbox is selected, the search will include DBMS subjects.

When the Groups, Users, Domain, and DBMS checkboxes are selected, search will be executed among all security subjects.

NOTE. When a domain user or group is being added, checkboxes are disabled in the Subject Type and Arrangement groups.

To search for users or groups, enter their names in the search string. The Name drop-down list is used to specify the search type:

Name contains. Default value. Search is executed for subjects, which names include the entered text.
Name starts with. The subjects are found, which names start with the entered text.
Name is equal to. Search is executed for subjects, which names match the entered text.

After a name is entered, click the Find button. Select one or several found subjects in the list by holding down the CTRL key and click the Add button.

Determine the domain, in which search will be executed, in the Domain drop-down list:

Specified Domain. Search in the specified domain.

NOTE. If the settings.xml file contains global catalog port (3268 for ldap, 3269 for ldaps) in the catalog service server URL or domain controller, the search returns all subjects within one domain or its subdomains even if specific domain was specified.

Domain Controller. Search in the specified domain controller.
Global Catalog server. Search in the specified Global Catalog server.
Current User Domain. Search in the current user domain.

To start the search based on the determined parameters, click the Find button. Select one or several found subjects in the list by holding down the CTRL key and click the Add button.
