Foresight Analytics Platform Applications

Foresight Analytics Platform contains the following applications:

• Foresight Analytics Platform:

• • Studio.exe. It is used to log in to Foresight Analytics Platform to fully work with repository objects. After this file is started, the standard login dialog box opens, in which the user can select a repository.

  • PP.exe. It is used to log in to Foresight Analytics Platform to view repository objects. After this file is started, the standard login dialog box opens, in which the user can select a repository.

• Security Manager. The security manager opens as a stand-alone application. When the roles of information security administrator (ISA) and application administrator (AA) are separated, the security manager is used by ISA in his work.

• License Manager. Starts the license manager.

• Repository Manager. Starts the repository manager.

• Language Settings. A dialog box opens to determine language settings of Foresight Analytics Platform.

Conventions:

- application is included into software package.

- application is not included into software package.

NOTE. On custom setup of Foresight Analytics Platform it is possible to disable the corresponding program component. The disabled element is available in the  object navigator protocols.

Software packages for working via security server do not have repository manager. Connection is set up via the registry.

Service Applications

Foresight Analytics Platform contains the following service applications:

• Scheduler.exe. Starts the task scheduler to execute container tasks.

• Cfg.exe. It is used to update Foresight Analytics Platform, after which the user logs in to the system. Update is executed if the source contains a later assembly of Foresight Analytics Platform, otherwise login is executed. The standard login dialog box opens after the update.

NOTE. On installed FP9Full distribution file version, the login is executed via the Studio.exe startup file, otherwise login is executed via the PP.exe file.

• Tuner.exe. It is used to automatically set up repository parameters.

• PP.Util.exe. It is used to save encrypted password to log in to repository. Saving of encrypted password is necessary to:

• Set up login to repository via security server.

• Set up login to the web application with the use of the SAML and OAuth method.

• axis2_http_server.exe. A test BI server version that is used to debug and diagnose problems.

IMPORTANT. Start of axis2_http_server.exe in the production use is prohibited.
