Selection Schema

A selection schema is a repository object used in dictionary to automatically select elements based on specified criteria. Selection schemas are created as dictionary children; they are not displayed in the object navigator, but can be used in all the objects that use the parent dictionary.

A selection schema is built from single selection types.

A selection type is a rule, based on which elements are selected. All selection types are applied in the order of their creation.

To manage selection schema, follow the steps:

  1. Add a new selection schema.

  2. Add a selection type.

  3. Set up selection type if required.

  4. Change order of selection types location if required. It is available only in the desktop application.

  5. Preview result.

  6. Save selection schema. It is available only in the desktop application.

  7. Delete selection type if required.

  8. Delete selection schema if required.

NOTE. MDM dictionaries always work with the principal elements of the dictionary. The user cannot create a selection schema based on elements of default alternative hierarchies.
