Selecting dimension layout option in table is available in regular reports, information panels, express reports, dashboards.
When working with a table, specify dimensions to be displayed in rows or columns and dimensions to be excluded from rows and columns, that is, will be fixed. By changing the dimension layout one can find the best match view of the data to be analyzed.
To select dimension layout option:
In regular reports:
In the web application:
Drag the dimension from one layout option to another in the Dimensions area on the control panel or on the selection control panel.
Select the To Columns, To Rows, To Fixed, or Filter in Source item in the dimension's context menu or in the drop-down menu of the
Actions button in the Dimensions area on the control panel.
Select the To Columns, To Rows, To Fixed, or Filter in Source item in the drop-down menu of the
Actions button on the selection control panel. Button color depends on the dimension location: if the dimension is in row, the button is blue, if the dimension is in column, the button is green.
In the desktop application select layout option in the drop-down menu of the
By Columns button, the
By Rows button, or the
Fixed button located to the left of the dimension name in the Selection group of tabs on the side panel.
In information panels drag the dimension from the Dimensions area to the Columns, Rows, or Filter area on the control panel.
In express reports and dashboards select layout option in the drop-down menu of the
By Columns button, the
By Rows button, or the
Fixed button located to the left of the dimension name in the Selection group of tabs on the side panel.
Dimension layout options:
To Columns/
By Columns. Dimension elements are displayed in columns.
To Rows/
By Rows. Dimension elements are displayed in rows.
To Fixed/
Fixed. Dimension fixation is hiding of dimension elements from rows and columns, which are used to create a data view. Selecting fixed dimension with the Metrics role allows for setting up visualization of several dimension elements by means of font color and size or cell fill.
Filter in Source. Excluding dimensions that will not be used in creating a data view. This layout option is available only in the web application:
For all data sources, except for data sources based on one or more cubes.
For source cubes with enabled fact aggregation method.
For all dimensions, except for fact dimensions, controlled or parametric dimensions or dimensions with configured access to elements of MDM dictionaries, table and calculated dictionaries.
When source cubes with enabled dimension aggregation method are added, the
Filter in Source layout option is used by default, if dimensions are excluded from rows and columns. If aggregation is disabled in the cube, the
To Fixed layout option is applied for these dimensions.
In the desktop application, the
Fixed layout option is applied for the dimensions that use the
Filter in Source layout option.
Dimension order depends on the selected layout option. Above are located dimensions in columns, next - in rows, below - fixed and excluded.
