Setting Up Level Line

To set up a level line, use the Levels tab of the Axis Format dialog box. Level lines can be set up in the Axis Format dialog box only in the desktop application. In a radar chart, the Axis Format dialog box can be used to set up only level lines of the category axis (X).

To open the Axis Format dialog box

The Levels tab look depends on the selected axis. For example, when the Y axis is selected, the tab looks as follows:

To add a new level line to the edited axis (category axis or value axis), click the Add button. A new level with the same value as the previous one appears in the Level Lines area. Then the level value can be edited with the Selection value editor.

NOTE. On adding a new level line, the following initial parameters are set automatically: Selection: 0.000000, Line type: solid, Line width: 1/4 pt.

To delete the selected level line, click the Delete button.

To set value of the selected level line, perpendicular to the X axis:

To show a level line starting from the tick mark positioned in a category, select the category in the Category list.
To select random point on the scale used for level line plotting, select the point from unit segment [0;1] in the Selection value editor.

NOTE. X axis scale is used as a unit segment [0;1].

To set value of the selected level line, perpendicular to the Y axis:

Constant. Set level line value by using the keyboard or value editor.
Function. In the drop-down list select the function, which value is used to plot a level line. The following function types are available: Maximum, Minimum, Sum, Median or Mean.

To set up level line format, execute the following operations in the Line parameters group:

Select line type in the Type drop-down list.
Select line width in the Width drop-down list. Selecting the Custom option opens the Line Width dialog box. Select the required line width manually or using the value editor.

NOTE. Value input is available in different measurement units but the input box always shows the value in points (1/72 inch).

Select line color in the drop-down palette or select a new color in the advanced color palette opened on clicking the Other button.
Select the level line transparency percent in the Transparency editor.

To set up fill for the interval between level lines, execute the following operations in the Interval Fill group:

Select the Interval Fill checkbox.
Select the color to fill the area up to the next level line in the drop-down palette.
Select the fill area transparency percent in the Transparency editor.

The displayed part of added level line can be set up when working with a chart.

To set up displayed part of the selected level line, select the From and/or To checkbox in the Limit Height/Limit Length group of parameters. After this specify values of level line outermost points in corresponding editors. The specified values correspond with the values at the opposite axis, parallel to which the level line will be built. If the opposite axis shows non-numeric values, level line values are specified in the [0, 1] range, which corresponds with 0-100% of the axis size.

It is available to plot a level line by secondary axis for the level line perpendicular to the category axis (X). To do this, select the appropriate checkbox.

NOTE. A level line for secondary axis can be plotted if the Plot on Secondary Axis checkbox is selected for a chart data series on the Data Series side panel tab.

After setting restriction of the displayed part of level line, set interval fill if required.

To show a level line label, select the Label checkbox.

To edit or add a template to the label text:

Click the Add button next to the edit box.
Select one of the available level line label text templates in the drop-down list:

%Computation. The Function template is used as a level line label.
Depending on the selected label type the chart plot area will show the level line label as follows:

Constant.
<Function name>.

%Value. The Value template is used as a level line label.

If required, determine font settings. To do this, click the Font button and in the dialog box that opens determine font parameters.

To set up showing of the level line above the data series, select the With Data Series Overlapping checkbox. When the checkbox is deselected, the level line is shown under data series. The checkbox is selected by default.
