To work with the tool in Foresight Analytics Platform 10, use the new interface.
When creating a calculation formula, one can use the following as calculated elements:
Data consumer dimension elements.
Calculation block or control block parameters.
To determine a calculated element, use breadcrumb:
By default, a breadcrumb displays non-filtered values that are not selected in the data consumer dimensions list. One can select an element for a filtered dimension, by which calculation is to be executed regardless of the selected filtering, on the Consumer page in the calculation block or control block editing wizard.
When a parameter is used in a calculation formula, one can dynamically change the calculated element without having to change formulas.
To select a dimension element:
From non-filtered dimension:
Click the dimension name in the breadcrumb. The list of dimension elements opens.
Select the element for each dimension in the list.
From filtered dimension:
Click the button in the left part of the breadcrumb. The list of filtered dimensions will be displayed.
Select the dimension. The selected dimension will be displayed in the breadcrumb.
Click the dimension name. The list of dimension elements opens.
Select the element in the list for each added dimension.
After executing the operations, the selected element will be used in the formula.
To select a parameter specifying dimension value:
Click the button located after the name of the non-filtered or filtered dimension.
Select the parameter in the Set Parameter drop-down menu. Parameters of the Selection type can only be selected.
After executing the operations, the dimension value will be determined by the selected parameter.
NOTE. If a data source containing controlling dimensions is set in the parameter, the elements of controlling dimensions in parameters depend on the controlling dimension.
If required, select the calculation calendar frequency. Annual frequency is used by default.
To select the calculation calendar frequency, use the Frequency Step drop-down list on the parameters panel:
Annual. It is used by default
Semi-annual.
Quarterly.
Monthly.
Weekly.
Daily.
Formula calculation depends on the Use Algorithm Calculation Period checkbox:
If the checkbox is selected, the formula is calculated at each calendar frequency step within the specified algorithm calculation period.
If the checkbox is deselected, frequency step affects the shift of dates specified taking into account the number of periods.
If calculation formula calendar frequency differs from operand calendar frequency, after the formula is calculated, data will be calculated by formula calculation frequency. For example, if the formula has monthly calculation frequency, and the operand has annual frequency, data will be calculated by months.
