Editing Dimension

In regular reports select the Dimension > Edit item in the dimension element's context menu on the selection panel.
In information panels select the Dimension > Edit item in the dimension element's context menu on theDimension Filter panel.
In express reports and dashboards:

Select the Dimension > Edit item in the dimension element's context menu in the Selection group of tabs on the side panel.
Click the Edit button in the Dimension group on the Hierarchy ribbon tab.

The Original Dimension area displays dimension elements before editing, the Total Dimension area displays dimension elements after editing.

To add an element to total dimension:

Select one or several elements in the Original Dimension area. To select multiple elements one by one, hold down the CTRL key; to select all element starting from the currently selected one to the N element, hold down the SHIFT key.
Click the Add to Dimension button.

After executing the operations the selected elements are added to the total dimension.

To add a calculated element:

In regular reports and information panels click the Add button.
In express reports and dashboards:

Select the Element > Add New item in the element's context menu.
Click the Add button.

To set up a dimension element, use the expression editor.

A new dimension element will be added to the dimension, which elements are displayed:

In regular reports on the selection panel.
In information panels on the Dimension Filter panel.
In express reports and dashboards on the Selection group of tabs on the side panel.

A new calculated element cannot be added:

If global cache is used.
If a group of elements is applied in the dimension.
If not all cube dimensions have a defined primary key outside the block.
If aggregated data is drilled down.
If a data source is a cube, in table or calculated dictionary of which there are no indexes added.
If a combined dimension is used.

To reorder elements in the level, use the Move Up and Move Down buttons.

To move elements between levels, use the Move One Level Up and Move One Level Down buttons. It is available only in the Edit - <dimension name> dialog box.

When the element is moved between levels, child elements are moved with the parent element.

When the element is moved one level down, it becomes a child for the element located at the upper level:

To rename an element:

In regular reports and information panels select the Element > Rename item in the element's context menu in the Total Dimension area.
In express reports and dashboards:

Open element name for edit:

Select the Element > Rename item in the element's context menu.
Select the element and click the Rename button.

Enter a new element name and press the ENTER key.

After executing the operations the element is renamed.

To edit element formula:

In regular reports and information panels:

Select the Element > Edit item in the element's context menu in the Total Dimension area.
Click the Edit button.

In express reports and dashboards:

Select the Edit Formula item in the element's context menu.
Select the element and click the Edit Formula button.

After executing the operations the expression editor opens to set a formula of calculated element.

To restore elements:

In regular reports select the Dimension > Restore item in the dimension element's context menu on the selection panel.
In information panels select the Dimension > Restore item in the dimension element's context menu on the Dimension Filter panel.
In express reports and dashboards:

Select the Dimension > Restore item in the dimension element' context menu in the Selection group of tabs on the side panel or in the Total Dimension area in the Edit Dimension dialog box.
Click the Restore button in the Dimension group of the Hierarchy ribbon tab.

After executing one of the operations, dimension elements are restored and rest to the original view. In regular reports and information panels, before restoring dimension elements the system requests to confirm the operation.

To delete an element:

In regular reports and information panels click the Delete button or select the Delete item in the element's context menu in the Total Dimension area.
In express reports and dashboards:

Select the Element > Delete item in the element's context menu.
Select the element and click the Delete button.

After executing the operations the element is deleted. Before deleting the element the system requests to confirm the operation.

NOTE. Deleting of calendar dictionary elements is unavailable.
