Express Report Export

When exporting to XLS and XLSX, the Export Options to <format> dialog box opens before the Export to File dialog box:

Set the options in the dialog box:

• Expanders. The checkbox is deselected by default. When the checkbox is selected, the displayed expanders in the current view of express report table are exported. If expanders are collapsed, then all nested table elements and expanded/collapsed expanders are exported. Expanders are available in Microsoft Excel tools.

NOTE. The parameter is available only during export to XLSX.

• Chart as Image. . The checkbox is selected by default. Select the Charts as Images checkbox to export a chart as image to the EMF format, and be able to work with it only as with image using Microsoft Excel tools. Deselect the checkbox to export a chart as an object and work with it as with a chart using Microsoft Excel tools.

NOTE. Chart types, which do not support the XLS and XLSX formats, are exported as images. When exporting waterfall chart the chart type will differ from the source one due to mismatching settings. An object is exported to XLSX as a chart, to XLS - as an image.

To export the selected sheets, select the Selected Sheets radio button.

The output file contains each express report object on a separate sheet. If a data table is hidden, and a chart is visible, in the export file the sheet with the data table will be hidden, and a corresponding message will appear.

Expanders export features:

• If the table heading or sidehead contains more than one hierarchical dimension, then expanders will be exported only for the first dimension located in the first table column or row. If expanders are hidden for the first dimension, then displayed expanders of the next dimension are exported.

• If the table heading or sidehead contains several merged dimensions expanders are exported only for the first column or row taking into account the merge. If the first dimension contains several levelswhich are located in several columns or rows, only zero level expanders are exported.

Conditional formatting of cells is exported with the following restrictions:

• Conditional formatting is supported only by Microsoft Excel 2007 or later.

• Some designations in the output file may differ from designations used in the express report.

If the express report includes a column that contains a legend, in series mode this legend is exported to XLS and XLSX as shapes.

When the mandatory access control mode is active, and the print marking is enabled, the first line of the report contains a security label.

The report in the PDF format in the output file looks the same as the previewed express report.

If maps and charts located on the report sheet do not contain unsupported settings for export to the PDF format (dashed lines, alpha channel), they are exported to PDF as vector images. Otherwise they are exported as bitmap images.

When exporting to this format remember that:

• Cell texture may not be the same in the output file and in the express report.

• Symbols of chart data series legend may be displayed differently in the output file and in the express report.

• Data series names may be displayed incomplete in the legend.

• Chinese or Arabic characters may not be displayed fully or correctly.

• Depending on the selected font the text written in Russian with use of italic style may not be correctly displayed.

During export to PPTX, the Options of Export to PPTX dialog box opens before the Export to File dialog box:

Select the Charts as Images checkbox to export a chart as image to the EMF format, and be able to work with it only as with image using Microsoft Excel tools. Deselect the checkbox to export a chart as an object and work with it as with a chart using Microsoft Excel tools. The checkbox is selected by default according to the settings of the previous export.

To export the selected sheets, select the Selected Sheets radio button.

During export of the express report containing cell formatting, only one formatting type with the following priority will be loaded:

1. Image.

2. Conditional formatting.

3. Cell fill.

During export to HTM or MHT, the Options of Export to HTML or Options of Export to MHT dialog box opens before the Export to File dialog box:

To export the selected sheets, select the Selected Sheets radio button.

Selecting the Cells Auto Height checkbox enables the user to perform autofit the cell height on exporting in accordance with the information they contain.

When exporting to HTML, the set scale is taken into account during export, that is, the report in the HTML format looks the same as the objects located in the data area.

Export to PNG is available only in the web application. To do this, in the PP.xml file set the ClientExportPng attribute to True in the <export> section.

When exporting express report to PNG, the output file displays report contents in the same way as in the web application during export.

When exporting an express report to one of the specified formats the dialog box opens:

Choose a saving option in the The Volume of Stored Data area:

• Displayed Data Only.

• All Existing Data (may take a long time).

• Select Data to Save. In this case select dimension elements that are required to be saved.

The selection matches the selection in the express report by default. Data is saved only by the selected dimension elements and the report chart and map are also saved.

NOTE. Export to PPEXPRESS or PPCUBE is unavailable if data source dimension contains a calculated element.
