Setting Up ETL Task Operations Execution Order

An ETL task may contain multiple data transformation schemes. To ensure that all operations are correctly executed, you need to explicitly define their order.

To set up execution order, select the Task > Execution Order main menu item. The following dialog box opens:

To run ETL task, it is possible to enable or disable operation chains and single objects on the working area:

To enable or disable the selected operation for ETL task execution:

Click the Enable/Disable button.
Select or deselect the checkbox next to the operation name.

After one of the operations is executed, the selected operation turns to the opposite state, all objects of the chain excluded from the ETL task execution are displayed semitransparent on the working area.

By default, all operations are selected for execution.

To enable or disable a working area object from the chain of operations, select the Include in Calculation ETL Tasks context menu item.

The checkbox is selected by default, that is, the object is included into calculation of ETL task. If part of the objects is excluded from execution of ETL task because of consumer exclusion, these objects have this checkbox deselected.

The following objects may be excluded from the chain of operations:

All types of providers if the Union and Join data transformers follow them.
All types of consumers if the Split data transformer precedes them. After exclusion of such consumers from the calculation chain, the objects that follow these consumers are excluded automatically from the chain of operations, for which this consumer is a provider and which have no other providers.
All objects of the Transformer type.

If the excluded object is in the middle of chain of operations, links in the chain are automatically rebuilt on executing ETL task.

Links between the enabled objects cannot be edited.
