Selecting Data Sources and Working with Them

Regular report can manage one or many data sources.

The following elements can be used as data sources:

Adding a Data Source

To add data sources to a regular report:

  1. Click the Sources button on the tab panel. The Sources side panel opens.

NOTE. The Sources button on the tab panel is available only when a regular report is opened for edit.

  1. Click the Add Source button at the top or central part of the Sources panel.

NOTE. The Add Source button in the central part of the Sources panel is available if no data source is added.

The Add Source dialog box opens:

To set up displaying of repository objects in the Add Source dialog box:

    1. Click the Display Object button.

    2. Select one of the display versions in the drop-down menu:

  1. Select the required repository object in the repository object tree.

To quickly select data source use search. Enter the text to be searched in the search string. Search is executed automatically as the searched text is entered into the search string. The list will display only the data sources, which names contain the entered text.

To reset search results, click the Clear button.

NOTE. One data source can only be added at a time. If required, repeat the operation several times.

  1. Click the Apply button.

The selected data sources will appear on the side panel:

To quickly search for the required data source by name in the list of selected data sources, use the search:

  1. Click the Search button on the Sources side panel.

  2. Enter the text to be searched in the search string. Search is executed automatically as the searched text is entered in the search string. The list will display only the data sources, which names contain the entered text.

To reset search results, click the Clear button.

To hide the Sources side panel, click the Sources button.
