Entering and Editing Text

To work with the tool in Foresight Analytics Platform 10, use the new interface.

Each shape may contain some text. To enter text or edit available text, double-click on the shape. An edit box appears:

Place or edit text in the edit box. To close the edit box, click the space outside the box.

Operations with shape contents become available after switching to the edit mode:

To set up formatting parameters of the entered text:

Select the Format context menu item of the shape contents.
Press CTRL+1.

The Format dialog box opens with the Font tab.

Also, to set up formatting of the shape text:

Define formatting parameters in the Font group of the Home ribbon tab.
Define formatting parameters in the Format group of the Object.Shape ribbon tab.
Select the Format item in the shape's context menu. In the Objects Format dialog box define formatting parameters on the Text block and Font».

To undo the last operation executed for shape contents:

Select the Undo context menu item.
Press CTRL+Z.

To redo the undone operation:

Select the Redo context menu item.
Press CTRL+Y.

To place the selected shape contents to the clipboard:

Click the Cut button in the Clipboard group of the Home ribbon tab.
Select the Cut context menu item of the shape contents.
Press CTRL+X.

Shape contents will be moved to the clipboard.

To copy the selected shape contents to the clipboard:

Click the Copy button in the Clipboard group of the Home ribbon tab.
Select the Copy context menu item of the shape contents.
Press CTRL+C.

Shape contents will be copied to the clipboard.

To paste data to the shape from the clipboard:

Click the Paste button in the Clipboard group of the Home ribbon tab.
Select the Paste context menu item.
Press CTRL+V.

Data from the clipboard will be pasted into the shape.

To delete the selected contents in the shape:

Select the Delete context menu item.
Press the DELETE key.

The selected shape contents will be deleted.

To select all text in the shape:

Select the Select All context menu item.
Press CTRL+A.

All the text in the shape will be selected.

To align shape contents, select alignment method in the Alignment group of the Home ribbon tab.

The following alignment modes can be applied to shape text:

Align text to the left.
Align text to the center.
Align text to the right.

NOTE. Alignment is applied to all text shown within the shape.

If a closed contour shape contains some text, it is rotated with the text:

Text created for a line is always located horizontally:

To move line label, select the line (on selecting the label, the line to which the label belongs, is also selected) and drag the text, "capturing" the yellow marker in the center of the label:
