Setting Up Alignment

To work with the tool in Foresight Analytics Platform 10, use the new interface.

To set up alignment of the common legend, go to the Alignment tab in the Legend Parameters dialog box:

Select the method for specifying margins from external legend borders:

Automatic. Margins are set automatically.
Specify. On selecting the radio button set margins in the Left, Right, Top and Bottom boxes.

NOTE. Minimum value in the boxes is zero.

Select the required radio button to set layout of legend elements:

Automatic. The number of rows and columns is selected depending on the number of legend elements and legend size.
Multiple Columns. Specify the number of columns to show legend elements in. The specified number of columns is used regardless of the legend size.
Multiple Rows. Specify the number of rows to show legend elements in. The specified number of rows is used regardless of the legend size.

Define paddings in the common legend:

Between Icon and Label. Set distance between the icon and label:

Automatic. When the legend is compressed, the distance between icon and label is defined with the following values: minimum - 0 mm, maximum - the value specified in the real values box.
Specific. The distance between icon and label, set in the real values box, remains unchanged under any conditions.

Between Rows. Specify a padding between rows:

Automatic. Paddings are selected depending on the number of elements in the external legend and legend size.
Specific. Set the required padding in the real values box.

Between Columns. Set a distance between columns:

Automatic. Paddings are selected depending on the number of elements in the external legend and legend size.
Specific. Set the required padding in the real values box.

NOTE. The values can be entered in different measurement units. The editor box shows values using measurement units that correspond to the current regional settings of the operating system.

Define alignment for common legend elements:

Horizontal. Select horizontal alignment for legend elements in the drop-down list: left, center, or right.
Word Wrap. When the checkbox is selected, names of legend elements are shown in several lines if the text does not fit a single line. If the checkbox is deselected, the text is always shown as a single line.
Vertical. Defines marker position relative to the multiline text: top, center or bottom.

NOTE. The Vertical parameter is available if the Word Wrap checkbox is selected.

If values of all paddings are set automatically, on resizing the legend height (for both internal or external legend), the legend elements that do not fit into free space, are shifted as follows:
