To get detailed or general information about data, use data drilldown or drillup.
Data drilldown and drillup types:
By hierarchy. Data drilldown or drillup enables the user to move through data levels: from general to detailed ones and vice versa. Available drilldown/drillup depth is determined by the hierarchy of the data source dimensions.
With replacement and fixing of dimension. The sidehead dimension is replaced with the dimension from filter during drilldown/drillup.
Aggregated data. Advanced setup is required:
When aggregation of fixed dimensions is set up, during drilldown/drillup one can view the elements, from which data was aggregated.
When a cube with configured fact aggregation is used as a data source, during drilldown one can view the relational data, from which values were aggregated.
Available operations:
The operations are available for the dimensions selected during drilldown setup.
Depending on the level of the executed context menu command one can drill down the first ad the second levels.
NOTE. Drilldown is unavailable if cells from different data sources and/or elements of different dimensions are included in the selected data area range.
To execute first-level drilldown, select the
Drill Down context menu item.
First-level drilldown includes drilldown by hierarchy, drilldown with replacement and fixing, drilldown into relational data.
Drilldown into relational data
To execute second-level drilldown, select the
Drill Down> <Dimension name> context menu item.
Second-level drilldown includes drilldown by aggregated elements.
Drilldown by aggregated elements
Depending on the level of the executed context menu command one can drill down the first ad the second levels.
NOTE. Drillup is unavailable if the selected data area range contains cells of different data sources and/or elements of different dimensions.
To execute first-level drillup, select the
Drill Up context menu item.
First-level drillup includes drillup by hierarchy and drillup with replacement and fixing.
To execute second-level drillup, select the
Drill Up> <Dimension name> context menu item.
Second-level drillup includes drillup by aggregated elements.
Drillup by aggregated elements
To replace the dimension with the dimension in filter:
Select sidehead/heading dimension.
Select the
Replace With > <Dimension name> context menu item.
After executing the command:
The dimension in source filter with saved selection or full selection, if selection was not set, will be moved to sidehead/heading.
The dimension from sidehead/heading with saved selection will be moved to filter in source, depending on the position of the replacement dimension before executing the command.
Replacement is also executed when the
Drill Down/
Drill Up item is selected when the lowest/highest hierarchy level is reached or when the dimension does not have hierarchy.
To move to a certain dimension level, select:
One or several dimension elements or select the
Move to Level > <Level name> context menu item.
Data cell or range of data cells and select the
Move to Level > <Dimension name> <Level name> context menu item.
Consequently:
If the Extend Selection switch is inactive, the selection is rebuilt: all elements of the selected dimension level are selected.
If the Extend Selection switch is active, the selection is extended: all elements of the selected dimension level are added to the existing selection.
To return to the previous step during drilldown, drillup, replacement, and moving to level, select the cell, cell range, one or several dimension elements and select the
Back context menu item.
The command becomes unavailable when:
Selection changes, except for the cases when selection changes during drilldown and when the Extend Selection switch is active.
Drilldown into relational data is executed.
Synchronization is executed.
To undo all changes during drilldown, drillup, replacement, and moving to level, select a cell, cell range, one or several dimension elements and select the
To Original State context menu item.
The command becomes unavailable when:
Selection changes, except for the cases when selection changes during drilldown, drillup, moving to level and when the Extend Selection switch is active.
When drilldown into relational data is executed.
Synchronization is executed.
The first step is undone.
When report is saved.
