Common parameters are edited when it is required to rename the application named on its creating, to set object opened by default or units processed on opening the business application in the web browser.
Common parameters of business application can be edited in the Advanced Settings section in the web application or in the Common Parameters section in the desktop application of the designer of business applications:
To edit common parameters of business application:
Open the selected business application for edit:
In the web application:
Select the Edit item in the business application's context menu.
Press F4.
In the desktop application:
Click the Edit button on the Home ribbon tab.
Select the Edit item in the business application's context menu.
Press F4.
The following section of the designer of business application opens by default:
Basic Settings in the web application. Go to the Advanced Settings section.
Common Parameters in the desktop application.
If required, edit the parameters:
Application Name. If required, edit default application name.
Description. If required, enter text description.
NOTE. To edit the Application Name and Description parameters in the web application, go to the Basic Settings section.
Handler. Set the following for the handler:
Unit. In the drop-down list select a Fore unit to execute an operation when a specific event occurs. For example, when a specific event occurs, an information message should be displayed. The unit is processed on opening the web application and is tailored to needs of a certain application project to enhance its functionality. The unit should be first created and added to business application's internal structure.
Example of event handling code
Class. In the drop-down list select a class inherited from the BusinessApplicationEvents class and the event that implements this class. It is set by an application developer in the Fore unit.
NOTE. Event handling can be set up for various platform tools, for example, in regular reports.
Start Object. In the drop-down list select object shortcut from the Menu Structure folder that will be displayed on opening the web application. A start object can be a dashboard, regular report and express report.
NOTE. The start object should be first created and added to business application's internal structure. The start object shortcut should be added to menu structure.
To save the settings:
In the web application click the Save button
In the desktop application click the Finish button. Clicking the button finishes work in the designer.
After editing common parameters create internal structure of business application.
