Order of Applying Formatting Parameters

Foresight Analytics Platform allows to set up various table formatting: formatting styles, manual formatting for areas, conditional formatting. If there are several formatting settings, they are applied in a certain order.

Formatting Order in Express Report, Regular Report, Dashboard

Data formatting is set for:

In the data formatting order, each next item overlaps the previous one:

  1. Alternating styles.

  2. Manual formatting.

  3. Data distribution interface. Overlaps only cell fill.

  4. Formatting changed data.

  5. Metrics Color, Font Color, Font Size.

  6. Conditional formatting interface. Overlaps only cell fill.

In manual formatting and conditional formatting format can be set for different table elements, in this case the order of applying of format is the following:

  1. Entire table. The lowest priority.

  2. Data.

  3. Row dimension.

  1. Level of row dimension.

  2. Single row.

  3. Column dimension.

  4. Level of column dimension.

  5. Single column.

  6. Totals by columns.

  7. Totals by rows. The highest priority.

NOTE. On selecting several dimensions by rows or columns, format of the last selected dimension is used.

Example

Manual fill setup of row dimension will be overlapped by separate column fill, but conditional formatting configured for the row will overlap any manually configured fill.

Formatting Order in Time Series Analysis

The Time Series Analysis tool has the following formatting settings in the order of application:

  1. Alternating styles.

  2. Manual formatting.

  3. Conditional Formatting.

Formatting Order of Data Area in Regular Report

On working with data area of regular report the main formatting is data area formatting and totals formatting.

On formatting the table the data area formatting, formula area formatting, totals formatting and the formatting of calculated factors can be overlapped by other styles but by clicking the Refresh button the formatting is set up according to the data area parameters.
