Getting Started with the Designer of Business Applications Tool

To create a new business application in the object navigator execute one of the operations:

• Click the New Object > Custom Objects > Business Application button in the Create group on the Home ribbon tab.

• Select the Create > Custom Objects > Business Application context menu item of the object navigator.

The Create Object - Business Application dialog box opens, where insert name of the application under creation and, if required, change automatically generated identifier. Then the created business application opens.

To open ready business application for edit in the object navigator select the business application and execute one of the operations:

• Click the Edit button in the Open group on the Home ribbon tab.

• Select the Edit context menu item of the selected business application.

• Double-click the selected business application in the object navigator folder tree.

To open ready business application in the web interface:

• Open supported browser and specify web application URL in the connection string.

• The login page opens if server connection is successful.

• Enter user name and password in the corresponding boxes and click the Log In button.

• Main menu. It contains the Designer and Help submenus:

• The Help menu contains the About item to display information about version of business application and the Prognoz Platform 9 components required to provide its operability, and the Contents item to go to the Prognoz Platform 9 online documentation.

• Quick access toolbar. It contains frequently used commands.

• Ribbon. It contains commands located on tabs:

• Home. It contains standard commands of the Prognoz Platform 9 object navigator to create, delete, edit objects and folders, group objects into folders, work with clipboard, search objects.

• View. It contains standard commands of the Prognoz Platform 9 object navigator to manage display view and sort objects in working area. The Objects Moving Mode command is additional and it is used to move objects from repository to business application and back.

• Actions. It contains commands to set up application dependency from other Prognoz Platform 9 tools, to create and install business application updates and to set up displaying of the start page and side menu items of the custom web application.

• Working area. It contains a folder tree and a list of objects located in the selected folder.

• Top menu. It contains web application name and logo.

• Side menu. It contains web application functional sections.

• Main menu. It contains the Help button to go to the Prognoz Platform online documentation, information about the current user and the command to exit the application.

• Navigation menu. It contains path from the start page to functional block or object currently opened and it is used for quick access to the required object.

• Working area. It is used to display objects selected in the side menu.

• Select the Create > Custom Objects > Component item in the object navigator's context menu.

The Create Object - Component dialog box opens where enter name of the component under creation and, if required, change automatically created identifier. Then the created component opens.

To open a ready component for edit in the object navigator select component and execute one of the operations:

• Click the Edit button in the Open group on the Home ribbon tab.

• Select the Edit context menu item of the selected component.

• Double-click the selected component in the object navigator folder tree.
