Menu Items Formatting

Formatting parameters of the web application side menu items are set up in the desktop application of the designer of business applications in the Menu Structure folder.

The child elements hierarchy in the Menu Structure can be of any nesting level, but the web application side menu displays only two-level hierarchical structure. So, the first level folder can allocate the following display parameters:

The second level folder cannot be displayed as a group of elements including menu items. Folders of the third or more nesting levels will be displayed only in the web application working area.

To set up web application side menu items, select the required folder or object in the Menu Structure folder in the designer of business application desktop version and click the Parameters and Formatting button on the Actions ribbon tab.

The dialog box contains tabs: General, Advanced. The name and contents of the dialog box depends on the radio button selected in the Display in Navigator Menu block of the Advanced tab.

Determining General Parameters

To determine general parameters of the menu items, select the General tab of the dialog box opened after clicking the Parameters and Formatting button.

To display the General tab:

Select the child folder or object in the Menu Structure folder.
Go to the Actions ribbon tab.
Click the Parameters and Formatting button on the Actions ribbon tab.

Setting Up Additional Formatting Parameters

To set up additional formatting parameters, use the Advanced tab of the dialog box opened after clicking the Parameters and Formatting button.

To display the Advanced tab:

Select the child folder or object in the Menu Structure folder.
Go to the Actions ribbon tab.
Click the Parameters and Formatting button on the Actions ribbon tab.
In the dialog box that opens go to the Advanced tab.

Displaying in the As Menu Group Navigator Menu

To display folder in the web application side menu as a menu group, which can be expanded or collapsed, set on the Advanced tab:

Enter alternative name to display in the web application side menu in the Name Displayed in Navigator box.

Select the As Menu Group radio button.

Folders selected on the Advanced tab as a menu group have the icon in the designer folder tree.

NOTE. The As Menu Group radio button is available only for folders of the first level.

Displaying in the As Menu Element Navigator Menu

To display folder in the web application side menu navigator as an element, set on the Advanced tab:

Enter alternative name to display in the web application side menu in the Name Displayed in Navigator box.

Select the As Menu Element radio button.

Select one of the radio buttons:

Small icons.
Large icons.
Extra large icons.
List.
Table.

Extra large icons are selected by default.

Folders selected on the Advanced tab as menu element has the icon in the designer folder tree.

NOTE. The As Menu Element radio button is available for folders of the first level, for folders of the second level this radio button is available only if for the parent folder of the first level the As Menu Group radio button is selected.

Do Not Display in Navigator Menu

The Advanced tab of the Folder Parameters and Formatting dialog box if the Do Not Display radio button is selected looks as follows:

This box is unavailable.

Select the Do Not Display radio button.

Select one of the radio buttons:

Standard icon.
Sketch (object preview).
Specified sketch.

The Standard Icon radio button is selected by default.

This block loads or deletes icons for displaying folder or object in the web application navigator working area.

To load new or select the predefined sketches:

Click the button.
Select the string from list with sketch variant and click the Select button in the Sketch selection dialog box:

To add a new sketch, click the Load Sketch button. In the Load/Edit Sketch dialog box that opens, load images with the following sizes: 128*128; 64*64, 32*32 and click the Save button.

If the size of loaded images differs from the specified one, it will be automatically modified to the required one.

NOTE: This block is available only if the Specified Sketch radio button is selected in the Display View of Element in Navigator block.

Folders selected on the Advanced tab as not to be displayed in menu have the icon in the designer folder tree.
