Formatting parameters of the web application side menu items are set up in the desktop application of the designer of business applications in the Menu Structure folder.
The child elements hierarchy in the Menu Structure can be of any nesting level, but the web application side menu displays only two-level hierarchical structure. So, the first level folder can allocate the following display parameters:
As Menu Group. The web application side menu will display folder as a group, which can be expanded or collapsed.
As Element. The web application side menu will display folder as an element.
Do Not Display. The folder will be displayed in the web application working area and not in the side menu.
The second level folder provides the following display parameters:
As Element. The web application side menu will display folder as an element.
Do Not Display. The folder will be displayed in the web application working area and not in the side menu.
The second level folder cannot be displayed as a group of elements including menu items. Folders of the third or more nesting levels will be displayed only in the web application working area.
To set up web application side menu items, select the required folder or object in the Menu Structure folder in the designer of business application desktop version and click the Parameters and Formatting button on the Actions ribbon tab.
The dialog box contains tabs: General, Advanced. The name and contents of the dialog box depends on the radio button selected in the Display in Navigator Menu block of the Advanced tab.
To determine general parameters of the menu items, select the General tab of the dialog box opened after clicking the Parameters and Formatting button.

Set the following parameters:
Name.
Identifier.
Note.
To set up additional formatting parameters, use the Advanced tab of the dialog box opened after clicking the Parameters and Formatting button.

To display folder in the web application side menu as a menu group, which can be expanded or collapsed, set on the Advanced tab:
Folders selected on the Advanced tab as a menu group have the icon in the designer folder tree.
NOTE. The As Menu Group radio button is available only for folders of the first level.

Folders selected on the Advanced tab as menu element has the icon in the designer folder tree.
NOTE. The As Menu Element radio button is available for folders of the first level, for folders of the second level this radio button is available only if for the parent folder of the first level the As Menu Group radio button is selected.
