Drilldown and Drillup

To get detailed or general information about data, use data drilldown or drillup.

Data drilldown or drillup is the operation that enables the user to move through data levels: from general to detailed ones and vice versa. Available drilldown depth is determined by the hierarchy of data source dimensions. During drilldown of fixed dimension aggregation one can view the elements, from which data was aggregated.

Drilldown

Drilldown is used to move to a deeper level of dictionary hierarchy. The selection is rebuilt: all child elements of dimensions' deeper level are selected.

Data drilldown is available only for dimension elements with child elements.

To drill down data by dimension elements:

Select one or several table sidehead or heading elements.
Select the Drill Down context menu item.

After executing the operations data is drilled down by all selected dimension elements if they contain child elements.

Data drilldown is available only for the cells, which intersections contain dimension elements with child elements.

To drill down data by cells:

Select one or several table data cells.
Select the Drill Down context menu item.

After executing the operations data is drilled down by all selected cells if cell intersections contain dimension elements with child elements.

Drilldown by aggregated elements is available only on configured aggregation of fixed dimensions.

To drill down data by aggregated elements:

Select a cell or cell range, which data was obtained as a result of aggregation of fixed dimensions.
Select the fixed dimension, which elements should be drilled down, in the drop-down list of the Drill Down context menu item.

After executing the operations the selected dimension is moved to the sidehead and contains the elements used for cell range aggregation.

NOTE. Drilldown is unavailable if the selected data area range contains cells of different data sources and/or elements of different dimensions.

Drillup

Drillup is used to move to a higher level of dictionary hierarchy. The selection is rebuilt: all elements of dimension parent level are selected.

Data drillup is available only for dimension elements with parent elements.

To drill up data by dimension elements:

Select one or several table sidehead or heading elements.
Select the Drill Up context menu item.

After executing the operations data is drilled up by all selected dimension elements with parent elements.

Data drillup is available only for the cells, which intersections contain dimension elements with parent elements.

To drill up data by cells:

Select one or several table data cells.
Select the Drill Up context menu item.

After executing the operations data is drilled up by all selected cells if their intersections contain dimension elements with parent elements.

Drillup by aggregated data is available only on configured aggregation of fixed dimensions.

To drill up data by aggregated elements:

Select a cell or cell range, which data was obtained as a result of aggregation of fixed dimensions.
Select the sidehead dimension, which elements shoudl be drilled up, in the drop-down list of the Drill Up context menu item.

After executing the operations the selected dimension becomes the fixed one, and all elements of this dimension are selected. In other dimensions' rows and columns selection is not changed according to the selected cell/cell range, for which drillup was executed.

NOTE. Drillup is unavailable if the selected data area range contains cells of different data sources and/or elements of different dimensions.

Example of Data Drilldown and Drillup

The Russian Federation element contains child elements. Select this element and select the

Drill Down context menu item. As a result, data is drilled down, and the table moves to the deeper dimension level:

To return to the previous level, select any of the elements of the obtained level and select the

Drill Up context menu item. As a result, data is drilled up, and the table restored its original view:
