Data Series Properties

To work with the tool in Foresight Analytics Platform 10, use the new interface.

The Data Series Properties dialog box opens on adding or editing 3D scene data sources. Dialog box appearance depends on the selected series type.

For series of all types, the fields containing the axis values are required. All the settings are entered as ranges.

NOTE. Series type cannot be changed if the user opens the dialog box to edit parameters.

The following series types can be selected when working with 3D scene data source:

This series type enables the user to create a group of points (spheres) in the scene:

Define the following parameters to set up this type of series:

Axis Values. Define positions of points.
Radiuses Values. Define sizes of point radiuses.

NOTE. Only one series of this type can be created in the scene.

This series type enables the user to create a group of points (spheres) connected with arrows in the scene:

Define the following parameters to set up this type of series:

Series Name. Define one cell with the name of the created spheres group. Selected name is shown in scene parameters on the Group tab.
Axis Values. Define the range of cells that contain points' coordinates.
Radiuses Values. Define the range of cells that contain points radiuses.
Spheres Names. Specify the cell range that contains spheres names.

This series type enables the user to create a surface in the scene:

Define the following parameters to set up this type of series:

Axis Values. Define the range of cells that contain points' coordinates.

NOTE. Note that Z axis values must be specified for each possible pair of X axis and Y axis values. For example, if two X axis values and two Y axis values are considered, define four Z axis values.

This series type enables the user to create a group of connected points that create a closed surface in the scene:

Define the following parameters to set up this type of series:

Series Name. Specify cell that contains name of the surface to create. The selected name is shown in scene options on the Closed Surfaces tab.
Axis Values. Define the range of cells that contain points' coordinates.
Radiuses Values. Define the range of cells that contain points radiuses.
Spheres Names. Specify the cell range that contains spheres names.
