Connecting to Another Repository

The Repository Connection object enables the user to access objects of other repositories from the current repository. Using a repository connection, one can create shortcuts for objects of the linked repository.

To create a repository connection, click the

Create button in the main menu of the object navigator and select the object type on the New Object side panel.

Working with Repository Connection

To edit a repository connection, select the corresponding object in the object navigator and execute one of the operations:

Select the Edit item in the table's context menu.
Select the Edit in a New Tab item in the table's context menu.
Select the Edit in a New Window item in the table's context menu.
Press F4.

After executing one of the operations the repository connection wizard opens. Determine settings on corresponding pages of the wizard.

The users who have only object read permissions can open a repository connection for edit without being able to save changes. For details see the Working in Object Navigator section.

To save settings in the repository connection wizard:

Click the Save button.
Select the Save and Close item in the drop-down menu of the Save button. After this the specified settings are saved, the wizard closes, and the object navigator opens.

NOTE. The Save and Close item is available only on editing the settings.
