Formula Editor

The formula editor is used to create various formulas, expressions, and conditions required to create various objects and object parameters.

IMPORTANT. Formula editor is outdated, the expression editor is used by default instead. If you want to use formula editor, set the registry key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Foresight\Foresight Analytics Platform\10.0\UiTs\OldFormulaEditor] to 1. The key is set to 0 by default.

This area displays an expression, formula, or condition. One can create an expression by typing required symbols and characters or by using the data area and appropriate buttons in the formula editor window.

To create expressions, use:

Global variables. To do this, in the formula field specify the global variable identifier.
Application functions. To use application functions from the module, specify the path to the function in the following format: <module identifier>.<function name>.[(parameters values)].
Static methods of application and system classes (see also: . To use methods, specify the full path to the method in the following format: <module name>.<class name>.<method name>.
Conditional operator. To use conditional operator, enter the following string: <condition> ? <value if condition is executed> : <value if condition is not executed>.

Buttons are used to insert mathematical functions and operations in a formula. To display the required operation sign or function in the formula pane, click the appropriate button.

+	Addition.
-	Subtraction.
*	Multiplication.
/	Division.
=	"Equals" sign.
<>	"Not equal" sign.
<	"Less than" sign.
>	"Greater than" sign.
<=	"Less or equal" sign.
>=	"Greater or equal" sign.
( )	Brackets.
DIV	Integer quotient.
MOD	Remainder of the division of two operands.
AND	And.
OR	Or.
NOT	Not.

NOTE. On executing the MOD and DIV operators for integer data operands the result will be of the integer data type.

The contents of the data area depends on from where the formula editor was opened. The data area may contain fields, attributes, and the parameters of the object (for a cube, table, or dictionary, and so on) or the additional functions that may be used to create expression. Double-click the required identifier to insert it into the formula area.
