Advanced Settings: Data Import

Advanced settings are used to identify data from different files. The dialog box interface depends on the selected data source type. There two types of settings: general settings, which are the same on working with any type of file, and specific settings, which use depends on the type of imported file.

Click the Advanced Settings button in the source selection page.

Encoding. Select the encoding used for reading data from file in the drop-down list.
Row Delimiter. Select the character used as a data row end in the drop-down list or enter it using the keyboard.
Column Delimiter. Select the character used as a column delimiter in the drop-down list or enter it by means of keyboard.

Treat Several Contiguous Delimiters as One. If the checkbox is selected, contiguous delimiters will be considered as one delimiter for two fields. The checkbox is deselected by default, contiguous delimiters will be considered as delimiters of the fields containing empty values.

Text Qualifier. Select in the drop-down list or enter using the keyboard the symbol, which should indicate row values.
Skip First N Rows. Specify the number of rows to skip. Data is imported from the next row.
Header Row. Specify the number of row, which data is imported as column headers. By default, the headers are imported from the first row. Deselect the checkbox if there is no header row.

Driver. Select driver that is used to work with file. If the ExcelEx driver is selected, a set of specific settings matches the set for XLSX files.
Headers in the First Row. Select the checkbox to import headers in the first file row. If the checkbox is deselected, headers are not imported.
Data Sample on Query. Select the checkbox and specify the query for data import only from the particular sheet range. By default, the checkbox is deselected, the entire sheet data is imported.

Header Row. Specify the number of row, which data is imported as column headers. By default, the headers are imported from the first row. Deselect the checkbox if there is no header row.

Advanced settings of the Format group:

Fields in Nodes. Fields are located in child nodes relative to the node specified in the query. Field name = node name, field value = node value.
Fields in Attributes. Fields are located in node attributes. Field name = attribute name, field value = attribute value.
