A virtual cube is used to combine data from two or more cubes. Creating a virtual cube requires several cubes of any type. Same dimensions of source cubes will be converted into virtual cube dimensions. A fact dimension in the virtual cube can be built with elements of fixed dimensions of source cubes.
NOTE. If a cube with configured attachments binding is selected as a source cube, the virtual cube will also have this option.
The virtual cube wizard contains the pages:
Basic Settings/Basic Properties. Object name, identifier and comment are set
Parameters. A list of parameters is created.
Source Cubes. The list of cubes is created, which are extracted on forming virtual cube structure.
Manage Parameters. Passing of parameter values to open objects used in the cube is set up.
Fixing Dimensions. Dimensions are fixed to form fact dimension of virtual cube.
Units and Indicators. Dictionaries are specified, which are used to organize automatic data scaling into required measurement units.
Controlling Dimensions. Interaction between parametric cube dimensions and other dimensions is set up.
