Tables enable the user to autofill cells based on the selected range.
Cell autofit with data is available in the edit mode in the tools:
Dashboards, if data editing is enabled.
Analytical Queries (OLAP).
Time Series Analysis.
Modeling and Forecasting.
Reports.
Cell autofit is also available in the Interactive Data Entry Forms extension.
There are several autofill options:
After executing autofill, the extended range is filled based on the contents of source range cells and selected autofill option. On next editing of cells in the selected range, the
Autofill button in the web application or the
Autofill button in the desktop application will be hidden. The autofill result is saved.
Cells are autofilled with data including cell formatting and formulas set for cells.
NOTE. Copying data with formatting is available only in the Reports tool. To undo copying of the mentioned parameters in a report, deselect the
Copy Formatting checkbox in the menu of the
Autofill button in the web application or the Copy Formatting checkbox in the menu of the
Autofill button in the desktop application.
In the desktop application in the table visualizer to save copied formatting, select the Use Sheet Formatting checkbox of the Parameters tab of the Table group of tabs. Otherwise, on saving or on undoing saving the copied formatting is reset.
On autofill with double-click, cells are filled from the current selected range down to the table end; if a column contains cells with already entered data, autofill is executed to these cells.
If the cursor is hovered over square-shaped marker in the corner of the selected range's border, the mouse button is held down and the user is going to stretch the range to necessary size, how to determine what will be done: copy or fill?
If the user selected:
One cell, on spreading it to the right, left, up or down it is copied.
More than one horizontal cell, then:
On spreading to the right or left it is filled.
On spreading up or down it is copied.
More than one vertical cell, then:
On spreading to the right or left, it is copied.
On spreading up or down, it is filled.
More than one horizontal and vertical cell, it is filled to the right, left, up and down.
Any range containing one or more cells, then on spreading to the several sides at the same time, for example, to the left and down, it is filled.
NOTE. If the CTRL key was held down on spreading, it is copied no matter the selected range and direction of spreading.
