Getting Started with the Modeling and Forecasting Tool

To create a new modeling problem in the object navigator click the Create button in the main menu and select the Modeling Problem item on the New Object panel. Then the user is prompted to create the Modeling Container object.

To open a ready modeling problem for edit or view in the object navigator:

Double-click the modeling container.
Press the ENTER key.

Select the modeling problem and open it for:

Edit:

Select the Edit item in the problem's context menu.
Select the Edit in a New Window item in the problem's context menu.
Press F4.

View:

Select the Open item in the problem's context menu.
Select the Open in a New Window item in the problem's context menu.
Double-click the container.
Select the container and press the ENTER key.

Main menu. It contains main commands for working with modeling and forecasting. The main menu consists of the submenus:

Model. It is used to execute basic operations with a model.
Tools. It is used to set up parameters of the Modeling and Forecasting tool.

Ribbon. It contains commands located on tabs and arranged in logical groups. Each tab is related to the type of executed operation, for example, model calculation or target function setup.

Side panel. It contains tabs that are used to set up parameters of the object selected in the working area. Tabs are grouped. To display the required group, use radio buttons at the top of the panel. The set of tabs in the group depends on the object type to work with. Object name and icon are displayed at the top of the panel.

Working area. The main functional part of modeling and forecasting that is used to work with a model.
