Advanced Settings of Caption Format

To set up advanced caption format parameters, go to the Advanced tab of the Caption Format dialog box. The setup is available only in the desktop application.

TIP. To quickly set up captions of chart axes, use the Category Axis (X), Value Axis (Y) and Value Axis (Secondary) tabs on the side panel.

To open the Caption Format dialog box

To automatically set caption position, select the Position Automatically checkbox. The checkbox is selected by default. On changing the caption position this checkbox is automatically deselected.

The chart caption is automatically positioned above the chart plot area, axes captions and tick mark intervals are shown next to the axis (The Y axis captions are shown vertically).

To display caption shadow, select the Display Shadow checkbox.

Then set up shadow offset along the category axis (X) and offset along the value axis (Y) using the value editors dX and dY respectively. In the drop-down palette select the required shadow color or select new color in the advanced palette opened by clicking the Other button.

NOTE. Shadow can be displayed if the caption area fill is set.
