Controlling Data of Several Sources

To fix a private dimension:

1. Click the Settings button corresponding to the fixed dimension.

2. Select the In Fixed Privates radio button.

The dimension will be fixed. The Fixed Private Dimensions tab that is used to work with the dimension is displayed. Work with this tab is the same way as with the Private Dimensions tab.

To work with fixed private dimensions, use the Fixed Private Dimensions tab.

To unfix a private dimension:

1. Click the Settings button corresponding to the fixed dimension.

2. Select the In Privates radio button.

The dimension will be unfixed. To work with free private dimensions, use the Private Dimensions tab.

A composite dimension is a dimension consisting of the elements selected in private dimensions.

To create a composite dimension:

1. Select the required elements of composite dimensions.

2. Select the As a Composite Dictionary checkbox.

The composite dimension is formed based on the selected elements. This dimension is displayed in the Private Dimensions tab. Working with composite dimension elements is similar to working with elements of standard dimensions.

To delete a composite dimension, deselect the As a Composite Dictionary checkbox. The list of private dimensions is displayed on the Private Dimensions tab.

A private dimension can be created on the basis of a shared dimension.

NOTE. The option is available if data sources contain a number of shared dimensions.

To create a private dimension on the basis of the shared dimension:

1. Click the button ( By Columns, By Rows or Fixed) located at the left of the dimension name.

2. In the drop-down menu of the button select the To Private Dimensions item.

The selected dimension is transformed into a private one and moved to the Private Dimensions tab.

A private dimension can be moved to private ones. To do this:

1. Click the Settings button.

2. in the drop-down menu of the button select the To Shared Dimensions item.

The selected dimension will be converted to a shared one and move to a separate tab.

When a private dimension is moved to shared ones, it is located in the same position ( By Columns, By Rows or Fixed), in which private dimensions are located.

A private dimension can be created on the basis of a general dimension. The option is available if data sources contain a number of shared dimensions.

To create a private dimension on the basis of the shared dimension:

1. Click the control button on the left of the dimension name.

2. In the drop-down menu of the button select the To Private item.

The selected dimension is transformed into a private one and moved to the Private Dimensions tab.

Generalization means excluding of a shared dimension from private ones. The options is available if a shared dimension was transformed into a private one.

To generalize dimensions:

1. Click the control button on the left of the Private Dimensions tab.

2. In the drop-down menu select the To Shared item. The dialog box with the dimensions list, which can be transformed into shared ones, opens. For example:

Select the required dimensions.

The selected dimensions will be generalized.
