Sorting

1. Select a cell or a cell range in the table area.

2. Click the Parameters button on the toolbar.

3. Select the Table area type in the drop-down menu of the side panel title.

The switch is toggled to active state by default. If the switch is inactive, elements are sorted without taking into account hierarchy. If the switch is active, select method of saving hierarchy:

•  Inside Branches. Elements keep full hierarchy, sorting rules are applied individually to each branch.

• By Levels. Elements are divided into levels, sorting rules are applied inside levels.

All sorting rules are displayed in the list and applied one by one. To add a sorting rule, click the Add Rule button. The Sorting Rule panel opens:

Set the parameters:

• Sorting Type:

• Ascending/Descending. It determines sorting order.

• Non-Numeric Values at the End. If the checkbox is selected, non-numeric values are placed after numeric values.

• Rule Action Area:

• Row/Column. Sorting by the selected row or column. Specify the row/column number and select the Row or Column option for sorting in the drop-down list.

• Table Element. Sorting by the selected table element. To select a table element, click the Select Table Element button, and the Select Table Element panel opens.

• Dimension. Sorting by the selected dimension. Select the dimension and the sorting method in the drop-down list.

Drag the rules to change the order of their application.

To edit the rule, double-click the rule, and the Sorting Rule panel opens.

To delete the rule, click the Delete button.

It is available for the Table Element rule action area. To select the table element, click the Select Table Element button, and the Select Table Element panel opens:

Select the table element, sorting of which dimension should be set up. Select the From Heading or From Sidehead radio button. The From Heading radio button is selected by default.

The area below displays all dimensions contained in the selected table element. Select the dimension element in the drop-down list.

It is available for the Dimension rule action area. Determine the attribute, by which sorting will be executed, that is, select the attribute in the drop-down list. Sorting is executed by the Name attribute by default, sorting for calendar dictionaries is executed by the Calendar Element Name attribute.

All sorting rules are displayed in the list and applied one by one. To add or delete a sorting rule, click the Add or Delete buttons. To change the order of rule application, click the or buttons. To edit the sorting rule, select it and set sorting rule options: rule action area, sorting order, sorting method.

Select rule action area:

• Table Element. Sorting by the selected table element.

• Dimension. Sorting by the selected dimension.

• Row/Column. Sorting by the selected row or column.

Set sorting order:

• Ascending / Descending. It determines sorting order.

• Non-Numeric Values at the End. If the checkbox is selected, non-numeric values are placed after numeric values.

Determine the attribute, by which sorting will be executed:

• By Attribute. By default, elements are sorted by the Name attribute. If the Dimension sorting rule action area is selected, specify the dimension, by which elements are sorted, in the drop-down list.

• By Formula. Elements are sorted by the specified formula. Clicking the Edit button opens expression editor.
