Tables, MDM Dictionaries, Automatic Cubes and Time Series Databases

If a table, MDM dictionary and automatic cube or time series database is added to update, the Add Object to Update dialog box opens:

The upper part of the dialog box displays an icon, name, identifier and a type of added object.

Update Settings

Determine object update options:

Object data and metadata. The structure and data of the object are updated.
Object metadata. Only the structure of the object is updated.
Object data. Only object data is updated.

Determine behavior of an update if the updated object contains elements or records that are not contained in the update and for which there are links from other dictionaries:

Default. Update method is determined by the platform. Integrity check is not executed by default.
Request in Dialog. On updating the dialog box opens where select the action:

Save elements/records.
Skip updating of dictionary/cube/table.

Do Not Check. The object is updated without integrity check.
Do Not Delete Elements/Records. If the updated object contains elements or records that are not contained in the update and for which there are links from other dictionaries, such records are saved.
Do Not Update Dictionary/Table. The object is not updated.
Abort Updating with an Error. Object updating is aborted with an error.

NOTE. After a table, MDM dictionary or automatic cube is added to the update, it is available to change the method of integrity constraint handling and the update method. Then select an object in the update and change the corresponding settings on the Object Update Options panel.

If the checkbox is selected, it is available to use the specified update methods and integrity constraints handling methods for all objects of the specified type.

NOTE. The Use Option for All Objects of the Same Type and Use Option for All Objects checkboxes are available to select if there are several tables, MDM dictionaries, automatic cubes and/or time series databases among added objects.

Features of MDM dictionary update

If an MDM dictionary of any type refers to one or several repository objects, by default only this MDM dictionary is added to the update. Objects, to which the dictionary refers, are not added. To add the objects, use the Consists Of dialog box.
