Working with List in Dimension

The following methods can be used to search elements:

• Filtering method.

• Sequential search.

To set up sorting for elements, select the Sorting item in the element's context menu.

To determine the attribute to use for element level names, select the Name item in the element's context menu.

The following conditions must be satisfied to work with a group of elements:

• The dictionary must have configured groups of elements.

• The dimension must be not fixed, or aggregation for fixed dimensions must be set up.

NOTE. When both Groups of Elements and Selection Schemas are applied to the same dictionary, take into account that interaction of both options affects the result. In the selected group of elements, the elements corresponding to the specified selection schema are selected.

To show the elements that belong to a specific group in the dimension:

• Select the Display Group item in the dimension element's context menu. Select a group of elements in the pop-up menu.

NOTE. The pop-up menu of the Display Group item shows only the last ten of the most recently used groups. If more than ten groups are defined for the dimension, the menu includes the Other Groups item. Select the required group of elements in the Select a Group of Elements dialog box.

• Select a group of elements in the Group of Elements list of the Dimension Parameters dialog box.

After this all elements that are not included into selected group become hidden.

To show the full list of elements, select the None item in the Group of Elements list of the Dimension Parameters dialog box.

To select an alternative hierarchy, select the Alternative Hierarchy item in the element's context menu.

NOTE. The command is available if an alternative hierarchy is set up for the dimension.

To collapse the list hierarchy:

• Select the Collapse All item in the element's context menu.

• Click the Left key, navigating the elements with the Up and Down keyboard keys.

To expand the list hierarchy:

• Select the Expand All item in the element's context menu.

• Click the Left key, navigating the elements with the Up and Down keyboard keys.
