Sorting enables the user to change dictionary elements order.
Dictionary elements can be:
Sorted by Columns. Click the button and select the Sorting item. The similarly named dialog box opens. Dictionary elements are sorted by columns similarly to sorting of table columns.
Sorted in Ascending or Descending Order. To do this:
Select the Sorting > Ascending/Descending item in the context menu of dictionary element. Elements are sorted in accordance with ascending or descending value of the attribute selected in the list of attributes.
NOTE. If on sorting in ascending order no attribute has been selected, the first attribute in the attributes' list is automatically selected when this option is enabled.
Click the caption of this column. The column caption displays the arrow indicating sorting order.
. Ascending.
. Descending.
No arrow. This column is not sorted.
On the first click the column data is sorted in the alphabetic order, that is, ascending order. On the next clicks on the column sorting order is changed.
Sorted by the List of Dimension Attributes. To do this, select the Sorting > By Attribute item in the context menu of dictionary element. The list includes all dictionary attributes. Select the checkbox next to the attribute which value is to be used for sorting. The Ascending option is selected by default if no sorting has been set before attribute selection.
NOTE. If an attribute should not be displayed in the Sorting submenu, set it as hidden in the dictionary. To do this, select the Hidden checkbox in the Dictionary Attribute Properties dialog box.
To reset sorting settings, select the Reset item in the context menu of dictionary element. The dictionary elements are sorted in accordance with the method set up at the dictionary creation.
