Creating a Hatching Scale

To work with the tool in Foresight Analytics Platform 10, use the new interface.

To add a hatching scale, click the Add button and then select the Add Hatching Scale item in the drop-down menu. The Report Scales dialog box changes its appearance to the following:

Select the required hatching type in the drop-down list.

Set indicator value to associate with color using value editor or manually.

One value corresponds to three scale tick marks.

If the indicator value matches the given value, the indicator hatching is the one set in the scale tick mark next to the specified value. If the indicator value is greater or less than the specified value, the indicator hatching is the one set one tick mark larger or smaller than the specified value.

The scale values must be set in ascending order. The minimum value is to the left, and the maximum is to the right.

Set the number of scale intervals.

If the Automatic Scale checkbox is selected, report scale values are calculated automatically. The calculation method is selected in the Scale Calculation Method box:

Equal. The whole data range is divided into the specified number of equally long intervals. Default option.
Quantiles. The whole data range is divided into the specified number of groups that contain the same number of territory units that are different in length.

Calculation results depend on slice data and on the number of scale values (the Values Total box). Hatching color is specified when map properties are set.
