Creating a Numeric Scale

To work with the tool in Foresight Analytics Platform 10, use the new interface.

To add a numeric scale, click the Add button, and select the Add Numeric Scale item in the drop-down menu. The Report Scales dialog box changes its appearance to the following:

Set a number for the selected scale tick mark. This number affects height or width of indicator parts (for example, bar height for a bar indicator, or pie indicator radius).

Set indicator value to associate with color using value editor or manually.

One value corresponds to three scale tick marks.

If the indicator value matches the given value, the sharing is the one set in the scale point next to the given value. If the indicator value is larger or less than the given value, the sharing will be the one set one point larger or smaller than the given value.

The scale values must be set in ascending order. The least value is to the left, and the maximum one is to the right.

Set the number of scale intervals.

If the Automatic Scale checkbox is selected, report scale values are calculated automatically. The calculation method is selected in the Scale Calculation Method box:

Equal. The whole data range is divided into the specified number of equally long intervals. Default option.
Quantiles. The whole data range is divided into the specified number of groups that contain the same number of territory units that are different in length.

Calculation results depend on slice data and on the number of scale values (the Values Total box).
