Creating a Color Scale

To work with the tool in Foresight Analytics Platform 10, use the new interface.

To add a color scale, click the Add button and then select the Add Color Scale item in the drop-down menu. The Report Scales dialog box will look as follows:

Select background color in the drop-down palette or select a new color in the advanced color palette opened on clicking the Other button.

Set indicator value to associate with color using value editor or manually.

One value corresponds to three scale tick marks.

If the indicator value matches the given value, the fill color is the one set in the scale point next the given value. If the indicator value is greater or less than the given value, the fill color is the one set one tick mark larger or smaller than the given value.

The scale values must be set in ascending order. The minimum value is to the left, and the maximum is to the right.

Set the number of scale intervals.

To set start and end gradient color, click the Gradient button. The Gradient dialog box opens:

Select the required colors in the drop-down palettes.

If the Automatic Scale checkbox is selected, report scale values are calculated automatically. The calculation method is selected in the Scale Calculation Method box:

Equal. The whole data range is divided into the specified number of equally long intervals. Default Option.
Quantiles. The whole data range is divided into the specified number of groups that contain the same number of territory units that are different in length.

Calculation results depend on slice data and on the number of scale values (the Values Total box).
