On import to existing dictionaries, the hierarchy of existing elements is considered, as well as dictionary parameters. Any attributes, which type matches that of the source field, can be bound. Various features of import are given in the subsections below.
Import to hierarchical dictionaries
Import to hierarchical dictionaries is executed as follows:
On import to a dictionary, the system checks for the following combination: parent element (combination of parent elements) - added element. If the checked combination exists, the element is not added. If the parent element exists, a new child element is added for it. If this combination is not found, a parent element (combination of parent elements) is created and a child element is added.
If the dictionary is a version one, elements are added for the current date. In this case the actual period of parent elements must not be less than the current date. End date for the added element will be equal to that of the parent element. If the parent element is already outdated, a new parent element is created. The current date is set as the start date, and the maximum date - 31.12.2999 is set as the end date.
Import to multilingual dictionaries
If translation into different languages is enabled for the dictionary, one can specify during link setup, which language will be used to import elements:
Import takes into account current language of repository, the language that was set in repository on creating a dictionary and also binding method:
Binding is executed directly to attribute. On import elements are searched by the translation matching the current repository language. If this translation is missing, elements are searched by the language, which was set on creating the dictionary. If the value is not found in translations, a new element is created. The imported value is set for all languages, into which the dictionary is translated.
Binding is executed to attribute translation (current repository language matches the language that was set on creating a dictionary) and:
Attribute translation matches the language that was set on creating a dictionary. Elements are searched only by this attribute values.
Attribute translation matches the current repository language. Elements are searched only by this attribute values. Values in the language that was set on creating a dictionary are not considered.
Attribute translation does not match the current repository language. Elements are searched only by this attribute values. Values in the language that was set on creating a dictionary are not considered.
Binding is executed to several attribute translations and:
One of translations matches the current repository language. Elements are searched by this translation. Values in the language that was set on creating a dictionary are not considered. On creating new elements, values are imported according to the specified bindings. Value in the current repository language is imported as a value of translation into the language that was set on creating a dictionary.
None of translations matches the current repository language. Elements are searched by translation to the language that was set on creating a dictionary. On creating new elements, values are imported according to the specified bindings. Value of the first translation is imported as a value of translation into the language that was set on creating a dictionary.
Binding is executed directly to the attribute and one (several) attribute translations. Elements are searched by the translation matching the current repository language. Values are imported according to the specified bindings.
See below the examples that determine element search language depending on repository language and the language that was set on creating a dictionary.
